Topic: Mega Man X Hunter Medal not unlocking (Switch)

I have been completing the Hunter Medals for Mega Man X in the Mega Man X Legacy Collection for the Switch. There is one Hunter Medal that is supposed to unlock after you beat the game called "How Long Will He Keep Fighting? - Complete Mega Man X (cannot be earned in Rookie Hunter mode)."

However, when I beat the game (the spider boss at the end of the Sigma stage), I don't see any credits. It just goes back to the stage select screen. I don't think I have ever turned on "Rookie Hunter mode" at any point either. But obviously I am concerned now that maybe it was flipped on at some point during my game save. (Note: I have all upgrades, heart tanks, sub tanks at the time I beat the final stage). I have completed the final stage 3 times now to try to earn this Hunter Medal. The third time, I tried something else (troubleshooting) - instead of loading my save file, I load a password that codes for defeating all the bosses and acquiring all upgrades, then I complete the final stage and still no credits or Hunter Medal or anything.

I am at a loss of what to do because obviously I don't want to start the entire game over again from scratch. I also don't know if the issue is with my save file (Rookie Hunter was turned on at some point unintentionally?) or a glitch with the Hunter Medals.

Anytime I look online to see if anyone else is having this issue, it is mainly Trophy Hunters and Achievement Hunters for PS4 and XBox. I haven't seen any discussion about the Hunter Medals on the Nintendo Switch, probably because Switch games do not have Trophies/Achievements, so there is no online community for them.

When people do talk about this Hunter Medal/Trophy/Achievement, some did not wait until the "end of the credits" for a Sigma appearance. However there are no credits that play after I beat the final boss stage. Can anyone else who has this game for the Switch confirm that there are no credits after you beat the robot spider at the end of the final stage? Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on what is going on? Has anyone else had issues with this Hunter Medal on the Switch?
