@meleebrawler At this point, I like to consider them as rivals/friends.
On a separate topic, It's super disappointing that the ruined kingdom is so small. It and the dragon looked so cool, but yeah. Man, easily the most disappointing kingdom for me
Major spoilers for those who haven't reached 500 moons yet.
Did anyone else beat Darker Side? That was one of the most difficult levels I've done in a Mario game, took me a couple hours.
@Switchcraft 8-year-old me had to deal with Mario 64, and I managed to do fine! The notion that children can only play easy games is nonsense I think. If anything, children can learn things way faster, so they should have less trouble than an adult.
Comment on post-game: Just found out you could play any music during gameplay. I‘ve got Honey Ridge (Escape), the music playing while you‘re playing as Bowser at the end of the main game, playing on an endless loop. This music is freakin awesome!

Playing this game for 3 days now and didn’t finished yet.. taking my time to explore and enjoy every minute of it. Maybe I’m slow because I don’t want it to end. Like never! It’s so good. Really the best Mario game IMO!
I’ll gladly pay for additional content if there will be some..
@Octane I got my SNES at 8 years old and I definitely did not manage to finish any of my games until much later, incl. Mario Kart, Super Mario World and Secret of Mana. My parents were also very strict about a 1 hour/day rule. I think I just played 3 days for 4 hours each with Odyssey, so yay 33 year old me!
@CroRock
Same here, I take it slow and savor every last bit of it because games like this don't come around but every 10 years or so (which makes this year all the more amazing that we got not one but two such worthy games).
Idk if I'd say it's better than Zelda- cause Zelda was really freakin good. But it's up there. It's definitely up there. I think once you reach a certain point it's hard to discern which game is better. There's probably 10 or 15 games that I would consider the best of all time and it would be really hard to choose from among them which is the absolute best. I could tell you Metroid Prime is the best game I've ever played, I could tell you Zelda BotW is the best game I've ever played, and I could tell you Super Mario Odyssey is the best game I've ever played. And I don't think I'd feel conflicted about any of those statements.
As for DLC, I say bring it on. When you're dealing with a game this good, I just don't want it to end. Add 3 new worlds or something for $20, with some new outfits and what have you.

without spoilers should I be trying to find every moon and currency before moving to another kingdom? or are some only found after gainging something from another kingdom?
@ValhallaOutcast More moons become available as you progress through the story. You may be able to find all the currency though.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@MasterWario thanks I like to clear as I go and dont want to keep looking for thing that dont happen untill something else , I figured since you can travel back to pevious kingdoms there is a reason for that.
One level has me absolutely stumped... I don't even know what the game want from me. It's probably very obvious, but I'm definitely missing something...
I was playing the game for four hours, yesterday. I played it with a GameCube controller, which works fine. However, there is no option for switching ZR with R and ZL with L, and, therefore, the main shoulder trigger is Z. Of course, this is not optimal for a usual GameCube controller.
Nevertheless, using the GameCube controller, the game feels like Mario Sunshine and not like Mario 64. Indeed, the whole missions and layouts are more like Mario Sunshine than the open world sandbox of Mario 64. And I am little disappointed by the boring level choosing screen.
However, the game is fun like hell. There are so many great ideas such that I couldn't stop playing, but it is way too easy..
