@WoomyNNYes Isn't it already March 22 in some countries like Japan though? So would the courses appear in global races now?

@vio Everyone gets to pick from the same courses so I'd guess DLC will start appearing in global/regional races at a time when it's March 22nd for most of the world (e.g. midnight PT/3am ET/7am GMT/4pm Japan time/etc.)

@Grumblevolcano Oh lame.. It is my understanding that if you don't own the DLC the option to vote for the DLC courses will never appear for you anyway, so they should just make them available to players in Japan and Australia right now. I'm sick of racing against the boring, easy CPU opponents on the new courses and getting a friends lobby together is a royal pain in the butt!

Got my 1st Booster Course Pass track in global matchmaking, Toad Circuit was selected via "Random".

I came across Toad Circuit while playing online. The DLC tracks should show up now!

Edit: First DLC track I played online was Ninja Hideaway.

@MarioLover92 Awesome news! We played for an hour or so last night to see if any cropped up, to no avail. Glad they’re finally on the rotation now! We only really play online together against real players, more fun than the CPU

@Kintypoo121 Yeah I agree with you, I almost exclusively play online in this game. Especially since I have everything unlocked. Too bad the game picked Moo Moo Meadows when I came across Toad Circuit for the first time...but I did eventually race on it! The only DLC tracks I didn't race online in my most recent session were Choco Mountain and Coconut Mall. It may take a while for them to show up, but they will eventually come.

@vio Nope, we don't have to wait. You may need to give some time for the DLC tracks to appear in the course select, but they'll show up sooner or later.

At long last I am racing new courses online! Went into worldwide, immediately started spectating a race on Toad Circuit and knew it was go time! Then I got Choco Mountain first race! Then quickly also got Coconut Mall, Ninja Hideaway and Shroom Ridge. I'm also noticing the players who do NOT have the DLC. There was a couple in the lobby who never voted for the DLC courses so very likely they don't have it. Seems unfair they get to freeload like that, but whatever. Guess that's better than splitting the player base like they did on the Wii U..

Oh yeah. New track popped up online, second race. And virtually everyone pounced on it.

I keep going back trying to beat my current personal best, 1:10.012 on Sky Garden 200cc. The video is just a lap - not quickest or slowest.

When that happened with a different course, I was one of the only ones picking something different, It was the only time I saw a new course today, and mine won instead lololololol

To change the subject a bit:
On Sunday my brother gave me the files of the MK8 soundtrack, he owns it on CD.
Now I realise even more how stellar it is. While listening to it without playing the game, I hear even more stunning details. Now I'm inclined to import the album from Japan, the place where it's available the most on Ebay.

I also hope they'll release an album of the DLC courses' tracks as soon as they're all live.

I do wish they made the tracks a bit longer. All of the courses feel shorter than the main game, and some of the turns feel a bit too stiff. It's almost impossible to not run into the walls in Coconut Mall on the "halfpipe" sections.

I don't remember this being an issue on Wii.

@TommyTendo "Halfpipe section". I asume you mean the walled turn after the the escalator? (it does have a transistion up the wall like a quarterpipe/halfpipe). For Coconut Mall 200cc, I avoid trick jumping off the escalator to avoid hiting the wall in the following turn. Actually, I start a drift on the escalator, then release the drift to start the boost while in the following turn. Otherwise, I think I also apply the brake in that turn to avoid hitting the wall.

Or for 150cc, to avoid hitting the turn wall after the escalator, I think you can trick jump from the middle of the escalator, rather than waiting for the top edge to trick jump. EDIT: My fault. I was wrong. I think I can trick before the top of the escalator, but that's it. I'm not sure there's advantage to it. For 150cc, I land drifting and use the brakes after the escalator jump to avoid hitting the turn wall.

I think the probability of one of the 3 selectable courses being from the Booster Course Pass is proportional to the number of players in the lobby who have the Booster Course Pass. There's been times where courses have appeared very rarely but in the current lobby I'm in there's been at least 1 selectable course from the pass for what's currently 8 consecutive races.

I like Paris promo track. Would have been a great level for Mario oddyssey. Ninja hideaway too

@1UP_MARIO I love those two as well. Paris Promenade is quite the charming course and I love how you get to drive backwards on the final lap. Ninja Hideaway is a surprisingly challenging course, too.
