@Silly_G what are you considering a modern dysfunctional family? I hope you’re not referring to things like same sex marriage, people choosing not to have kids etc as the other things I’d imagine you’re talking about are single parents which isn’t really modern nor automatically dysfunctional.
@Tyranexx I'm trying to get the rest of the moons in Super Mario Odyssey (before Super Mario 3D All-Stars arrives) as... who was it? Who is the person on this site that got them all? 🤣 I don't promise anything, some of the moons are very annoying to get (of course, I'm using a guide) and controls are inaccurate unlike Super Mario Sunshine's (that's why I don't get those complaints about Sunshine) because they combine normal controls with motion controls as a gimmick for stupid things such as jumping higher or going faster when transformed.
Uou never heard anyone saying this. I actually believe the reason some say SMO is too easy is because the Control are almost perfection. From the series for me the One that controls the worst are the Galaxy ones (maybe because I never got used to the Wii + nunchuk) and I could only complete odyssey and 64 because they play like "chef's kiss"
@status-204 nah, it’s a love triangle. She likes Bowser as he’s a bad boy that gets her heart racing but he doesn’t treat her right so she won’t commit, whilst she also like Mario but he’s already doughy and if they get hitched he will let himself go even more. Plus his tash doesn’t make him a great kisser.
There’s also the possibility she can’t go out with either of them as she needs to marry a prince from another kingdom to reinforce the Mushroom Kingdom alliance for the when they eventually invade Earth to control our resources.
The stupid and uncharacteristic "I don't need no man" ending of Odyssey was what killed the magic for me. They had built up so much anticipation about a wedding, and I was anticipating an epic finale, but it completely fell spectacularly short to say the least.
I think they were probably just trying to think of ways to change it up without having to actually tell a story of any kind. You know how Miyamoto feels about those.
@Losermagnet Nice, let me know how you like them on Switch. I hope that the controls for all games are good on it.
@jump@status-204 I really hope that he doesn't mean that. The story of Odyssey didn't do anything for me (the ending just reminded me of things I've seen before like Frozen) but same-sex marriage and optional and free parenthood should be a human right worldwide. Sorry, I had to say it (and it's a healthy thing to say).
Changing the subject, the questionable selection of worlds and the disproportion between Mario and the other human beings make Odyssey the last cohesive 3D Mario game. It has a little bit of Galaxy in the moon worlds but it isn't Galaxy, it has Tropical Freeze in Luncheon Kingdom but it's not Tropical Freeze, it has a Sonic Adventure Metro Kingdom which is a mistake, it has a New Super Mario Bros. thing in Lost Kingdom... Some worlds are cool, Bowser's Kingdom, Sand Kingdom... Mushroom Kingdom is brilliant but under-developed, the castle has just a hall and that's it, that was probably the biggest disappointment.
@Balta666 Super Mario Odyssey is easy if you play it as a walk simulator but some moves are overly complicated and I described a few. Motion control and platformer are not a good combination. On top of that, the camera of Odyssey is almost manual so you have another thing to care about (controls, motion controls and camera). Is it a smooth 60 FPS game? Yes although I noticed slowdowns in the second big world that I am re-playing, Wooded Kingdom. Does Mario move smoothly? Yes, animations are smooth and he reacts immediately. Are controls "perfect"? H*ll, no!
I know that Switch is not much ahead of Wii U in terms of power, considering the different architecture and the kind of graphics each can produce, but I think that Super Mario Odyssey was supposed to be a Wii U game, just a theory of mine. I also think that it has pretty lighting like Breath of the Wild but that Super Mario Sunshine and the Galaxy games are more beautiful.
EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot, the boss battles in Odyssey are somewhat bland and uninspired.

Just for clarity I'm not accusing Silly G of saying or thinking anything, it's just that modern dysfunctional family is very vague which is why I asked for them to expand on it. As I'm really not sure what types of dysfunctions are modern in relation to marriages being able to set good examples for them.
@BlueOcean don't you worry as I know SMO very well as I 100% complete it and let me say that the Joy you get when you beat one of the harder races by mastering the movement mechanichs (like hate jumps for instance) is awesome. And like many said you almost don't need to use motion controls (for instance i stopped using the Joy cons after half hour)
@BlueOcean Yup, the purple coins are the new blue coins. Although thankfully, they A: Are actually tracked on a per level basis, B: it tells you if they're in bonus areas, and C: They aren't as devilishly hidden, with most of them just requiring basic exploration.
As for those questioning it, I 100%ed SMO in portable mode without motion controls. No idea what they even do in that game other than letting you throw your hat (which is mapped to a button too).
@status-204@jump it's entirely about maintaining the status quo.
Peach and Mario can't, and will never, marry each other or anyone else, simply because that would be too big of a change to the character dynamic, and the series would need to change permanently.
@status-204@1UP_MARIO As I've explained before there are moons that require the use of motion controls, I named a few of those on this thread and there are more that I'm finding now. Motion controls include shaking the console/pro controller, not just using the joy-cons (I don't have joy-cons).
@link3710 When you (Mario) are transformed, if you don't shake the console/pro controller (I play on Lite), it's impossible to get extra height or speed that is required for some moons. You have to shake the console/pro controller when you possess uproot and Bullet Bill to get extra height and extra speed in order to reach those moons (e.g., On the Eastern Pillar) and it's not just shaking but jumping and controlling them at the same time.
@BlueOcean it’s been a while I played it nearly 3 years but I think you just press Y and and another button that functions as the same move. It’s been a while and I could be wrong.
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
@1UP_MARIO I'm at the Sand Kingdom. I got a Bullet Bill, Y is normal boost but not a single other button activates the extra boost, only shaking, required for "On the Eastern Pillar" (that I already got).
@status-204 "while jumping off, doing a hat bounce, then throwing the hat backwards to catch it and then boosting, and exciting it just right"
I don't even know if I can picture that on my mind. I have almost beaten Cap, Cascade and Sand kingdoms. That one is exactly the last moon I was going to take today, Lake Kingdom Master Cup, but I didn't feel like so I gave up after a few tries. Is that you playing?
