I wonder why next level games is making this port/ remaster for switch? And if not next level games then is grezzo making this port?
I kinda hope its not Grezzo. I wouldn't be disappointed if they where working on it, they're a good studio. But they're too good for what seems to be just a simple graphical upgrade. I'm hoping they're working on some big new game or remake instead..
The only one in the series I haven't played due to not owning a 3DS - so this will be a must-buy for me! To me it may as well be a brand new game, and it is, as I've never laid a glove on it.
Nice that it's getting a HD version on Switch but I think I'm gonna get the 3DS version. Mostly because I don't wanna pay $60 (if it's ever getting that price point).

@Don I'm sure we'll be getting some QoL additions like that. So far, barely any information about the remaster has been announced, but I'm sure they'll be adding and changing some things to make it easier to play.

Currently playing:
Persona 3 Reload (PC)
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy (PC)
@StarPoint If they tone down the amount of interruptions you'd get in the original then it instantly makes this remaster a 10/10 in my eyes.

Playing through this for the first time now, and am several hours in. Wow, what a lowpoint for the series. This just isn't a good game. Clunky, interrupted and so, so stop-start and at times, unforgiving.
The first and third games in the series are miles better. Turns out I wasn't missing out on anything spectacular for a decade or so by not playing this in its original form. As for the price? I feel dudded at $69 AU.
@Tendo64 it's controls are still clunky even with 2 control sticks! wow. At least you can play the series best online mode, it's scarescraper is miles better than 3's.

I'll give the online a whirl.
Very nearly maxed out with the campaign - have just died again near the end of a mission which means I have to start it all over again. I'm not engrossed enough to put myself through it, and it seems a massive waste of time trying to be. I think I'll call it quits.
@N00BiSH
The creator of the model for e.gadd in the remake probably misinterpreted the character docs they got from next level games (that is, if they ever got them to begin with)
I can't really bring myself to buy LM 2 HD when the 3DS version is dead cheapo. Now if it was bundled with LM 1 & priced at least $50. Then I would get it.
But even then nicer graphics ain't gonna always win me over...

I got this after some hesitation. It's fine. Still the weakest Luigi's Mansion by far, but it's still likable for me with plenty of fun moments here and there. There's something to be said for having a handheld game on a much bigger, much prettier screen with better controls. The total lack of extras and the game not looking as good as 3 when that should've been doable are disappointing for sure, but it ultimately wasn't enough to keep me away. I'd be content to play this on Switch for now on.
It might come down to someone's feelings about the price, but I'd only recommend it to someone if they like Luigi's Mansion 2 at all.
