@jump I'm not arguing the merits of Arms, I'm merely stating that responding to someone saying they want a mech game with 'we have one - Arms' is very unlikely to be what they meant. Many people like the feel of controlling a giant, heavy mech that can knock the corners off buildings as it walks by and destroy whole areas with its heavy arsenal. There are also mech games that involve flying around in fast moving mechs like Zone of the Enders or Gundam. Arms may be a great game but it is essentially an over the shoulder arena fighting game involving people with extendable spring arms. That doesn't replace a proper mech game.
Aside from all of that, this is a thread about sequels people would like to see on Switch and neither Arms nor 'any generic mech game' are sequels!

I get what you're saying, but I'm seeing a lot of inspiration from Mechas in the game which could satisfy that itch although, yeah it shouldn't probably be straight recommendation.
I want a sequel to Arms, preferably one that will fix the inevitable lack of a big roster you get from new fighters, lack of content from launch days games and hokey controls from monition controlled games.
Each to their own but I'm honestly looking forward to Arms more than Zelda atm.
I think that I am too.Of course I'm hyped for Zelda and it will no doubt be one of the finest games I've ever played but it's been such a long time coming and the option's there to play it on Wii U,Arms however is only possible on the Switch,at least in motion controlled form.I remember well how fresh and original Splatoon felt to me, like nothing I'd ever played before. It's rare to get that feeling anymore in games,at least for me.I think I'll get that awesome feeling again with Arms and I really can't wait.Plus I'm a big fan of motion controls when done right.Games like Tiger Woods and Grandslam tennis on Wii were superb,2 of the finest sports games I've ever played. The motion controls added a whole other level of immersion.I really hope the Switch takes off so EA might make a Rory Mcilroy Golf and a new Grandslam Tennis.Fight Night is another I'd love to see and perfect for the Switch.
@CanisWolfred Yes! Now we're talking. I feel like the Joycons could be perfect for this.
Indeed. Only other one I could think of that would suit it so well is Gungriffon, but I think that turned into a rail-shooter after the first game? I dunno, I've only played the Saturn original...
EDIT: Ack! Looked at some footage of Allied Strike, and it's still the same style, just plays way faster and you have even more incentive to boost jump all the time.
@CanisWolfred Love Game Arts, they made some great games like Lunar and Grandia and early 90s classics like Alisia Dragoon and Silpheed.
Never played any of their Gungriffon games, but it sounds like the two Saturn games and the PS2 one (Blaze) were all great but the Xbox one (Allied Strike) was a big disappointment. Would be up for a sequel on Switch although it seems doubtful. Virtual On is more likely, especially given the good relationship between Nintendo and Sega.
Considering it keeps getting brought up because of Arms, maybe we'll end up seeing a return of this series like what happened when every single time someone discussed Codename STEAM someone referenced Valkyria Chronicles.

Anything could happen in this bright & beautiful world~

Yeah, Gungriffon's been dead for years, and Game Arts doesn't really do much anymore. I wasn't saying I'd want it to come to the Switch, just that its suitability seemed relatively comparable. Also, I saw some footage for Gungriffon: Blaze, and it looks a bit more arcade-y, and the graphics are a lot worse, but I have some store credit at a certain retro store, so I think I'll try to get both games tomorrow.
Panzer Dragoon and Okami (Joy-Con motion control), TWEWY, Elite Beat Agents, Baten Kaitos, Ghost Trick (tablet touch-screen gameplay), Final Fantasy Tactics/Tactics Ogre and Front Mission (more strategy games outside of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars), Meteos and Professor/Lady Layton(puzzle games), Phantasy Star Online (online multiplayer). Radiant Historia, Golden Sun, Lunar Knights (RPG games).
Bonus: Jet Set Radio and Xenosaga ports (cause Beat and KOS-MOS dammit).
Of the less successful games I've played but thought were good I would love to see up to date sequels to Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Saga and Dragon Force on the SEGA Saturn
@zitpig Snowboard Kids would be excellent. My brother and I never owned the game but we would rent it every week from our local video store VideoGiant. Good times.
