I've debated this a few times now over the years about getting a leapster. Get a leapster or 2 of my Japanese nintendo switch games next month? Any thoughts? Has anyone played the leapster before? Is it fun? Was thinking of getting one for a long car trip later~ 🙃 🤣 Thank you in advance for any advice / help on this~ 😎👍

I'll think about it. The one Japanese nintendo switch game I'm defently getting. The other I don't know alot about except for playing the demos on the Nintendo Switch for Sumikko Gurashi series~ Looks super cute~ 🤷‍♀️

@Barbiegurl777 If you don't mind me asking, what are those Switch games you're thinking of getting? Also, I never played a Leapster before, but I do know it was intended for the younger crowd so I'm not sure if you'd get too much mileage out of it. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just offering my two cents. You can get whatever you want at the end of the day, after all.

It's all cool. The 2 Nintendo switch games I'm getting at some point lol are: Pui Pui Molcar (I'm getting that one tomorrow for sure) & Sumikko Gurashi Magic for Nintendo switch~ 🤣 As for the Leapster I love educational games to begin with granted been a fan of Nintendo since the early 90's & always will be but never found to many educational games on almost any of the game systems / handhelds which was the reason my dad got me the NES when I was little for educational purposes but later just played for fun as the years went by which is fine as well. I got a few offers I don't think I can refuse though for the Leapster lol~ I'm still going to play my switch. I'm thinking switch time in the morning & Leapster at night lol~ 😂😂😂🤣 I still love my 3ds but played the majority of ds & 3ds I really wanted to & beat every game til I'm done at 💯 each game~ 🤣 I did this with my games back then explore every level see everything I could in the game unlock everything on every level. Not sure the right word for a gamer like that~ 🤔 Perfectionist? I would be done in certain games faster if I didn't explore every nook & cranny in the games~ 😂😂🤣

@Barbiegurl777 Gotcha. If you enjoy those edutainment games, that's totally fine. I've been into Nintendo games since I was younger, though the games I grew up with pretty much consisted of Mario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and F-Zero back in the 1990s. (Side note: most of the edutainment stuff I've played were on Windows PCs when I was very young.) About you fully completing those DS and 3DS games you've mentioned, I've done that with pretty much all the Super Mario platformers! Most other games I play, I just do as much as I can to the best of my ability.

I know what your talking about. Yeah in the 90's it was mostly between mario & dk for me as well. I had Super Mario All Stars SNES & Donkey Kong Country SNES, Donkey Kong Diddy Kong's Quest, & Donkey Kong Dixie's In Trouble SNES. I had around 60 SNES games back then. Bought alot of them used for maybe $2 or $3 a pop back then. I know what your talking about though about some playing on the PC as well though. We didn't have a computer at all in the 90's. I knew of the PC because a few friends of mine had one when we went to different friends house to play. I vaguely remember f zero it on super nintendo if I remember correctly but it's been a good while now. I've also done the completing games thing since the NES days~ 🤣 I feel like NES, & SNES gave me more of a challenge as a kid back as for completing certain games. Fun times though~ 🤣 I beat some of my game boy color games to the point of replaying certain games 5 & 6 times even after fully completed if I really liked the game~ 🤣 I still remember being ticked at the GBA because not all of the GBA games had the save feature & I'd get half way through the game wanting to save & finding no save feature half the time~ 🤦‍♀️🤣

@WoomyNNYes

I have the free game in the Japanese eshop already & love it but yes talking about the physical copy plus it has the English language on it so for once I won't have to use Google translate lol~ 🤣 I can also get club Nintendo points listed on the above 2 Japanese nintendo switch games mentioned in this thread up until Dec of this year. So I'm getting yen & enjoying my games at the same time with the Japanese eshop with out having to buy a Japanese eshop card by getting physical copies of certain games lol~ 🤣

@Barbiegurl777 That's cool, we had all those SNES games back in the day, and then some. Gotcha - we didn't have a computer until 1997, I think. I was 5 at that time. We mostly had games for it, as well. You may recall that F-Zero was that futuristic racing game - we loved playing it back in the day. Yeah, many of those games on the NES and SNES were made to be quite challenging! It's pretty much why I didn't finish a lot of those games when I first played them as a child.

Huh, that's a bit strange a lot of your GBA games didn't have a save feature. They were probably budget games, I guess. Most of my GBA games, if not all, did save.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Looks like you made your decision, enjoy. I'd also like to point out that there's a chit-chat thread where we can talk about stuff. It's right here, with the latest page being shown. Or I can tag you over there.

Yes very challenging me & my dad played DK on SNES he was more into the DK series than me at the time. We managed to beat Donkey Kong Country SNES, got half way through Donkey Kong Diddy Kong's Quest SNES, & about 8 levels into Donkey Kong Dixie's In Trouble SNES. I kept going back & trying to beat both for a good while because I like a good challenge & also never give up attitude lol~ as for GBA I thought it was odd because the majority of my GB, & GBC games had the save / password feature which I loved. I love the GBA as handheld & thought the graphics were great on it for its time era. Just no save feature was the frustrating part for me. I found very few GBA games that actually had the save feature. Ironically I kept all my GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS games. For handhelds when it comes to a good game selection GBC, DS, & 3DS are my favorite lol~ 🤣 Yeah I'll probably go to the chit chat thread lol~ 🤣
