Topic: Knockout City

I’ve had a couple of goes on this whilst it’s in a free trial period and it’s actually pretty good. It’s well worth a try for those on the fence.

An arena dodgeball game seems like a pretty cool idea.

I just would've preferred a single player experience rather than competitive multiplayer.

Competitive multiplayer brings out the worst in me.

@Magician are you one of those people that will be screaming insults at people or in a more rage quit/throw the controller at the wall type?

I’ve grown out of that phase myself luckily so when I do insult people and throw things it’s for fun now. ;p

Played for a couple of hours yesterday and it's fun, but it has already become pretty apparent that you will need to join a Crew and communicate to stand any sort of chance in the game. Going in to a lobby with 2 randoms against a Crew meant that you usually got annihilated. I ended up playing more 1v1 as a result but its not as fun as the 3v3 modes.

Apart from that It seems to be a pretty standard F2P title with the usual cosmetic grind/push for MtX.

No, I level all the rage and disappointment towards myself, not those I play with or against. I'm not an eSports-level gamer, so I assume my presence already puts my team at a disadvantage before the match even begins. As per usual, the team player who doesn't carry their weight gets hazed, by the opposition and their teammate's. And I don't need that in my life.

Played this for a few hours at the weekend. I have since bought it and trying to convince my mates to pick it up too. A few of us regularly play Splatoon together so I think this could be a possible new addition to Games Night.

Edit: Love the fact that its crossplay everywhere at launch.

Reviews are coming in strong for this one, I've seen a few big sites give it a 9 including Nintendo Life.

Yeah this is a fun game. I don't often buy online-only games, especially ones with microtransactions, but I might get this if it goes on sale.
