@TheLastLugia: You guys need to learnt he concept of PR. Of course he is going to say that.Everyone says that. Idk if you've noticed yet, but Nintendo isn't very good at console support near the end if its life. Execs lie sometimes. but hey, believe as you wish.

True. But the fact that PR exists doesn't mean EVERYTHING they say is proof of the opposite.

@skywake: And from your last post..yeah i think wii u level is the max current tech would allow a portable to achieve at the moment lol.
But we'll see next year. my main point is that wii u and 3ds are taking a back seat when nx launches, regardless if its portable or console. that's just how things work with new generations are close, don't matter what kimi says lol.
@WebHead: you guys need to stop believing that everything is a conspiracy theory and that every official statement made (which is 100% of all official statements made, by the way) is a lie just because it undermines your 'arguement'. In my humble opinion at least. I'll say the same to you as you to me, believe as you wish, but I for one have a higher opinion of Nintendo than liars, they aren't quite at Ubisoft or EA's level in my eyes. Not yet at least.

Not even that if they want to maintain their pricing structure. Well, not quite. It's tricky. It might be about as impressive for 2D platformers and so on because of the lower resolution. But the hardware is going to be well under par so it's going to struggle with large open world games. Which is something you see on the 3DS. On-rails shooters and 2D games look as good as if not better than some games did on the Wii.... but things like Xenoblade are a stretch.

Yeah, they're going to have to move development onto this thing regardless of what this is. They need content for this new platform. For example even if it is a portable I could see Nintendo putting Retro or Monoloith to work on games for it rather than the Wii U. And if it's a home console they're going to put the 3DS in the same position.

@TheLastLugia: I hardly think Nintendo always lies. In fact, I'd say they're the most honest company in the industry today. But again, of course he's gonna say they'll continue support for Wii U. he's not gonna kill potential sales.
@WebHead: Yep. It would be financial/good will suicide for Nintendo to do anything other than continue vowing support for the Wii U, especially after how troubled its lifespan has been. It's not a "conspiracy," like @TheLastLugia said, it's just common sense.
@skywake: yep precisely. Whether it's handheld or portable, 2016 or 2017, Wii U and 3ds support is basically over in terms of major games when NX launches. They've probably moved some 3ds and Wii U projects to it, like retro studios or the next main animal crossing game for instance.
@WebHead: Oh, they have definitely moved some stuff over and started development. Now I just hope they learned from the Wii U, really. NSMBU and Nintendoland were not enough, and now they're going into things with a few years' worth of bad press and internet jockeys bad mouthing their stuff - they need a BIG hook to get this thing into people's hands. It can be in the form of a blockbuster game or MAYBE a fascinating "gimmick" (though I'm not keen on that any longer), but they need to win people over immediately. (I will admit, though, that the TIME interview was pretty cool, and I'm very excited!)
@rallydefault: yep with a good reveal and clear, aggressive marketing. If there's one thing to learn from the Wii U, ps4, and xbone is that marketing and first impressions are really important.
I know its not the outcome us Wii U and 3ds lovers want, but it has to be done.
@rallydefault: @WebHead: I think that's something we all can agree on; Whatever it is, it needs a good launch to build up a solid userbase in its first year. Enough that third parties are willing to keep supporting the system. 2D Mario is popular, but not enough on its own, and I don't think Nintendo Land was ever a system seller.
@Octane: yeah trust me Wii U would have some more 3rd party if it had 3ds install base or even ps4 install. If the install base and sales are there, the games will be there.
