If you create a eShop japan account on Nintendo you can read the game info and if there is english support it will list it there. Not all eShop JPN are english so you have to read the game specs to find that.

Most Japanese releases with English support get released in Murica and/or Europe at some point in time. The only exception are the Super Robot Wars series and SD Gundam series. Both are strategy rpgs, so I'm not sure if they'd appeal to you.

In addition to that, not all of them support English.

SRW V and X do, while SRW T doesn't.

The original release of SDG G Generation doesn't, but the Platinum version does.

@lovesushi : Create a Japanese NNID and assign it to one of your Switch profiles (or make a new one that does).

I have a Japanese account for two reasons:

  • Downloading demos that aren't released in the Western eShops (some languages may not be supported in demos, even if the full version does)
  • Ascertaining whether Japanese physical releases for games that haven't received a Western physical release (such as Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack) contain English support

Play-Asia also typically discloses whether a Japanese/Asian release contains English support or not.

A few Japanese/Asian releases that I have bought that include English support are:

  • Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 (released back in 2019)
  • Kunio-kun The World Classics Collection (later localised as Double Dragon & Kunio-kun: Retro Brawler Bundle)
  • Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet
  • Bayonetta
  • Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection (I haven't bought this yet, but I intend to when I next order from Play-Asia)
  • Mega Man Legacy Collection 2
  • Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2
  • Okami
  • Coffee Talk
  • I Am Setsuna
  • Shantae and the Seven Sirens
  • Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy

Don't assume that people a game has been released in multiple territories that the Japanese/Asian version will include English support by default. I always check the Japanese eShop page first.

And those that supported the KS got pulled a fast one. I've asked this before and guess what now we have a physical. This is for Summer in Mara.

@SwitchForce
I already got Chocobo Dungeon Every Buddy in physical (Cartridge written as JPN version but cover = USA version without ESRB rating)
Now I must get Summer in Mara physical release quickly.
