Topic: Is it at all possible to re-download DLC that got cancelled?

I have been having zero luck with internet on my Switch, and I am up to the point now where I am very disappointed and angry.

My Switch has a poor internet connection, to the point where I have to sit right next to the router to get full connection strength, and where my download progress keeps freezing due to server connection issues. It took me half of this week to finally be able to get the day 1 update and BotW update, the latter of which because the download progress would keep freezing and force me to cancel the download to restart it.

Today I bought the BotW DLC, yet when it began downloading the initial download (the Switch T-shirt and treasure chests), the progress froze at 2 percent. I cancelled the download thinking I could get it to restart itself. But in doing so, I think I just screwed up as there appears to be no way to re-download it. I checked the eShop (which tells me that it was purchased but no way to re-download it), I checked the game data, Switch settings, and just about everything I could find. I am extremely concerned now that I have forever screwed this up by cancelling the download.

Does anyone happen to know?

Try it at someone else house.
If it's the same problem, your Switch hardware is faulty.

So first fix your internet, Cleary something is wrong with it.

Go connect somewhere else on Wifi that's not your house and download Snipperclips demo ...
Does it download normal/fast now ?

For Zelda dlc go to data management and remove dlc, download again from eshop.

It's not the Switch that is faulty, nor is it my connection. The problem is Nintendo's own servers. I wish people would stop telling me that it is "my console". Even then, going to someone else's house wouldn't have fixed this problem that you so clearly did not read.

At any rate, I found the answer myself. Support site was actually helpful for once. I had to go to the main eShop and redownload it from there. This time it actually managed to download within a second, even with only one bar of connection strength. I'm relieved and pleased by this.

You said;

So something is not correct with WIFI, right ?

by the way, if it's the Nintendo server, nobody in the world can help you, but waiting for Nintendo getting the servers right in your location.

By testing this at someone else home you know if your router has bad config, if the hardware is faulty.
Sitting next to wifi for updates, not that great, so don't you want to fix that ?

@Reginald I have had no problem downloading off of Nintendos switch servers in the us. Are you sure that's what it is? If that's true than why does it help to be closer to the router?

Indeed, something is wrong with the router or Nintendo Switch wifi Hardware.
Maybe he is on a very busy wifi channel ( 11 for example ) or his router is split in 2,4 and 5 ghz speeds
and when the Switch surfs on the 5ghz band the wifi router start's to throttle for keeping the others devices at decent speed. The easy and best test is first trying somewhere else with a demo download.

I'm having no issues with WiFi, personally. I haven't tried the online yet because I haven't bought any games with online, but I can use the eShop fine, and I downloaded the Zelda DLC without issue. My Switch is about 10 feet away from my router.

No, that was not the problem I was specifically asking about.

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I was asking if it was at all possible to re-initiate a download that got cancelled. This was not about my connection, not about Nintendo's servers, but about the cancelled download.

But I've answered it myself, so moving on.

Yes, you can re-initiate and re-download anything you get from the eShop. It's a menu in the eShop itself.

(I know OP solved, but reference for anyone else browsing through the thread quickly.)
