I have had my switch for a little less than a month now and recently it's been saying there is no card inserted after being on sleep mode for a while. The game is in the device though and the console has not been touched while in sleep mode either.
My console is updated and it’s still having the issue.
Has anyone else had this issue before?

It works after restarting the console or removing the game and putting it back in but i feel i shouldn’t have to do that?

Is this a common issue?

I spoke to the customer support team but they said i had to send it in and i may have to pay- but before i do that i thought to check here 😕

It very occasionally happens to me, though I've had mine since 2017 & it didn't first happen to me until earlier this year.

There was another thread about this topic not too long ago I think, so it's probably not that uncommon.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

When was the last time you restarted it. It might be wise to power off and or restart once in a while. This is the smart thing to do.

UPDATE: switch crashed then made a really loud bang/popping noise… returning it and getting a new one today 😭

@sophluv wow, at least your doing it sooner then later. That's what you should do if in warranty time so you avoid any problems if they crop up. And hopefully you can get a replacement sooner then later.
