I'm looking at buying a switch game and import it from America. Would it work here in the UK? And would it work docked to my TV also?

@Samwich90
Nintendo Switch games are Region Free.
It will definitely 100% playable on any region Nintendo Switch machines.

There's online import tax and vat calculators, so you can have a guesstimate on the cost of potential charges.
Amazon should flag it if you are going to pay up front. I've paid upfront with eBay, but I can't remember if I have with Amazon or not.

Shouldn't be a issue AFAIK.

You pay the vat upfront, i just ordered Crash Bandicoot 4 from Amazon USA,it took 5 days to get to the uk and paid £46 total.

@CactusMan DLC compatibility varies from game to game. Sometimes DLC across regions works fine but sometimes it'll only work if you buy DLC from the same region.

Some DLC requires your account in that region to download. Example you buy a JPN DLC or a JPN DLC download comes with the code. Then your account has to be set to JPN settings to download to the DLC. So there are limits when it comes to DLC.
