Yes! The islands are separated by console, not cartridge. You can start a completely different island on your other Switch @Mimirose

@Mimirose Game saves are not stored on Switch cartridges. Game save data is stored on the Switch internal memory. So yeah, you can share your cartridge with a friend. When they put your cartridge into their console, it will be fresh new game. (They won't get access to your game save - your game is safe.)
