So I have the single person plan for NSO and have my Nintendo Account and Switch user profile tied to my Switch Lite. I just ordered a standard Switch "The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Limited Edition model" for $299.99 and was wondering if my NSO Subscription will be valid on my standard Switch as well as my Nintendo Account and Switch profile or will I have to migrate everything over from my Switch Lite before I can utilize my Nintendo Switch Online sub and features as well as my digital purchases?
@TowaHerschel7 Your NSO membership is linked to your Nintendo account, and you're able to use that same Nintendo account on multiple Switch consoles. In other words, you can play online, back up your save data, and play NES/SNES games on a different console if you want to. However, one of your Switch consoles has to be a primary console - a secondary console needs to connect to the internet to play games. I looked it up on Nintendo's support site for you, the info I found can be seen here and here. Let us know if you have any more questions - hope this helped.
@TowaHerschel7 As far as I know, you'll need to deactivate the current primary console, which will let you make your next Switch the new primary. This link has a series of steps you can take, depending on whether or not you have your current primary Switch. Once again, hope this helped!
Thanks again! Also where can I find info regarding the discount to upgrade my NSO package? I still have 7 months left so the discount for the expanded NSO sub should be decent.
I do think ACNH allows only one Console to have it one there per account. Not sure how this works if you do Primary and Secondary accounts. You will have to check with Nintendo Support on this. Also look at their FAQ site to answer some of these questions and what someone says might not always be what Nintendo says. So check there for Account issues.
