Having an issue with your switch that you just cant seem to resolve?
Tired of hearing a video tell you methods to fix it that don't work?
Well this is the Forum for you!! You can state the issues that you have been having with your switch here and real people (our fellow lovely Nintendo Life members) will try to help you out.
Space and Games are similar. Space is endless and new stuff is out there waiting to be discovered. Games are always being made but the creativity is different from one game to another and so many more ideas still haven't been imagined or created yet. (That came out better than expected lol)
So my problem is recently (this has happened before) my joycons have been disconnecting while I play in Handheld mode.
So I will be playing and then my character or whatever will just stop moving and I wont be able to move for a couple seconds and then it reconnects. (Depending on the game it will say "you need a controller to play this game" duh lol)
My "R" Button has also not been working so I dont know whats going on.
Has this happened to anyone else and how do i fix?

@GalaxicGlobe
First off, I’m far from an expert on this so don’t take my advice as gospel because I might be wrong.
With that being said, Have you replaced anything internally recently? Once when I replaced my cousins joy con stick, I didn’t fully attach a ribbon cable on the side railing of the joy con. It still worked, but would only connect through Bluetooth and not the switch itself. To fix it I just put in the side rail again. Maybe yours has come loose overtime and isn’t connected fully?
The R button could have something to do with the spring coming out of place.
Currently playing: Pokemon Soul Silver, Mario RPG
Enos 1:15
This isn't really a good idea for a thread as we aren't experts here and doing your own repairs can void out the warranty. The best thing to do is contact Nintendo and set up a repair.

Nintendo's support site has troubleshooting for most everything. I'd say about 95%, or more, of people that post switch tech questions here could have solved their issue faster if they would have searched Nintendo support first. If you can't solve an issue with Nintendo Support's troubleshooting, that's been a very good indicator that hardware needs fixing or replacement. (or if you had something apart, it wasn't put back together correctly - a ribbon not seated fully, etc)
@GalaxicGlobe I’m having that issue with my Switch with every controller so much, I’m getting a Switch Lite for Christmas.
You only need to know about my many obsessions, which consist of Lego, Fortnite, Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox games, drawing on my Tablet, Dragon Ball Z, My Hero Academia, Thomas The Tank Engine, Star Wars, and Ninjago.
@GalaxicGlobe I'd say some right joy-con-disconnecting in handheld mode was normal for launch models of the Switch with certain games. So, if you have a launch switch with launch joy-cons, it can happen here and there. I don't recall how Nintendo fixed it. They may have tweaked the joycon antenna placement?
Side note. I do recall having that issue here and there with my launch switch, but it usually happened while navigating in-game menus, or when booting up a game. It rarely disconnected during actual gameplay.
@blindsquarel I havent touched anything on the inside of my switch so no and that might be the problem with the R button.

@WoomyNNYes The thing is I have gotten my Joycons fixed (I have 2 pairs) and i want to know if this has happened to anyone else and if it was the joycons or the switch itself. (My switch is from 2019)

@WoomyNNYes Also my joycons disconnect in handheld mode not wireless.
My wireless works fine.
Yeah, when I said joycons sometimes disconnect with launch model switch, I am talking about handheld mode (joycons attached to the console). And they usually disconnected (or became un-sync'd) when booting up a game or while navigating in-game menu just before you start playing the actual game. I rarely saw it during actual gameplay. There was something about booting up a game & navigating in-game menu that could sometimes trigger an attached joycon to disconnect. Based on my own experience, and on others posting here in the early days of the switch, some of that was normal for earlier consoles. It was infrequent enough, or only happened with certain games, that it was mostly tolerable. I don't know if that issue carried over to 2019 consoles.
If the disconnect issue is a frequent problem, then I would agree, something may be wrong.
@WoomyNNYes Alright. We will see what happens, i tried resyncing them and havent had any issues so far (havent really been playing)
