Hi. We purchased a switch for our son for Xmas. All was working fine up to bedtime last night but when we have got upntoday all the games are showing but looks like they are downloading again. When we click on them we get a message software cannot be downloaded as the user that purchased no longer exists on the console. I purchased everything eith my parent user account which is logged in. Having a nightmare as our son is 11 and autistic and it is stressing him out (and us!) not being able to use it.
Any advice as to what is going on/what we can do would be massively appreciated.

Scroll to the game that you want to play. Before clicking on the game to play it, press plus. It should pull up a menu and you should see an option for “Save data cloud”. Click on that and then click on your sons account. Press the “Download save data” option.

Thank you. I have just tried this and it says no save data. When we click on the game we get a message saying download was stopped because an error occurred. Then when ee click on check it says content cannot be downloaded as the user that purchased it no longer exists on this console. All games were downloaded on xmas day by my parent account which the console is allegedly logged into.
So confused!!!

If you’ve deleted the parent account (as in, your account) from your son’s Switch, then those games can no longer be accessed without a separate purchase via your son’s account.

There is no family sharing of downloaded games on Switch.

@jdl5376 Just bolstering Silly_G's points: Game ownership is tied to the account that buys it. The account/user that buys the game must remain on the Switch to access the game. So, it sounds like someone deleted the account, or the Switch user is no longer linked to the nintendo account that bought the game. In which case, you can re-establish the Switch user's link to the Nintendo account.

Nintendo UK support contact page. If you go as far as the email form, the phone number used to be at the bottom of the email form. I'm in the US, and can no longer access the UK support because of my location.
