Topic: Has Advance wars 1+2 reboot camp been cancelled?

So its been months since it was announced. It was going to be released on December 2021 and was delayed due to development issues. then it was going to be released on April and this time it was delayed because of real world events. Now we are past the halfway mark of the year and still no news.

the question I assume many have at this point is: Has it been completely cancelled?

If they are waiting for the real world event to end, that might as well be a cancellation since its not going to happen anytime soon (regrettably).

No, it's not been cancelled it's just on hold for the next few years sadly.

I have a feeling that they are just waiting for the situation to die down. It seems highly unlikely that they would cancel a whole game because of this.

It and Goldeneye both seem to be on hold for the same reason, I can't imagine they won't release them both at some point as money has been spent on the development...

I'd say wait another year or two until everything freezes over in Russhina.

The game is pretty much already complete, so there's really nothing to cancel. When they choose to release it is another matter altogether.

It's cancelled, yep - just like Bayonetta 3, Shin Megami Tensei V, and Hollow Knight Silksong have been. So I've been assured, many times.

I wouldn't be surprised if it'd canceled due to the Russia/Ukraine war. It might get released in a few years but who knows at this point.

I don't see this game fully being canceled since it's more or less complete, but I think Nintendo is biding their time until the world event in question dies down (Wish this has already happened, unnecessary as it was to begin with) and there's a dry release spell.

If you really want the game to get released start donating money to Ukraine so they can buy more guns and ammo so the war can end quicker. They need all the cyanide tipped armour piecing exploding bullets they can get!

TBH, you are all over-exaggerating yourselves and no, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp has not been cancelled, it has been delayed. Please, have patience

No it hasn't been canceled. Sometimes It feels like it has like how sometimes I forget that fate/extra record is still coming out. I think people forget that advance wars as a series got released on September 9th 2001, the same year as an incident that almost made it get pulled off the shelves if what people told me is true on that. I think it'll still happen, I just think that right now until stuff in the world comes down, we won't be seeing it on shelves whether physically or virtually until it all settles down.

Personally I'm fine with waiting so long as it's not like until 2024 if only because the interest of it will die down by then and i'm still excited that a game series that I grew up with is going to be introduced to tons of new people who will know nothing about the game, and I look forward to the memes to come from it.

I know this thread hasn’t been posted in for a month… this was all before Batgirl got cancelled. Now I feel like a project being done has nothing to do with it getting cancelled….

...I kinda hope/wish that this was simply delayed and that maybe they'll expand on this to make up for it. I kinda want Dual Strike. Maybe not the entire game (they could probably make the dual maps thing possible but I doubt they'd go with it, lol), but maybe the double CO mechanic, the characters and units that can be used in custom maps and other modes.

There will always be a war going on somewhere in the world. That is just the hard truth. If Nintendo won’t release Advance Wars until there are no wars going on, then it is just as good as cancelled.
This is just my opinion though.

That's what i'm wondering about too, by that logic you can never release "Advance wars" at all, at any point in time, there will be a war somewhere, involving an army that has a passing resemblance to one of the in-game armies...
