Buying a switch for my son( 11) for Christmas( finally lol).

Got 4 games
Mario Kart
Breath of the wild
Minecraft
Diablo 3

Plus a couple wireless Controllers that I can’t remember the brand but is mentioned here a lot.

Getting a case ( possibly this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07RTWC9FY/ref=sspa_mb_hqp_det...

The case we are looking at comes with a screen cover.Thought about a memory card but not sure on it.

Anything else I’m missing?

@Ruthless4u I think you're good for starters, although... that case you've linked is pretty bulky, you might want to get a slimmer one for day-to-day portable protection.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@Ruthless4u You’ll certainly get a lot of longevity based on those games you’ve picked. Short sessions of Mario Kart mixed with BOTW would make for great entertainment.

Your son will most likely love BOTW so setting up a separate account is necessary if want to experience the adventure separately.

We are thinking about a smaller one as well but the one I mentioned would be to help keep his 18 month old brother out of it as well

A Temper Glass screen protector would be the first to get. As for games that will depend on your and his taste to determine which fits. And if you like everyone together a multiplayer games would go good with that. Also if you get the Switch not Lite then get a GripCase so they can play portable as well. Also get a good case to store the game cart in like a Hori 24 that is a good case and then a Second Dock so you can hookup if you take it on the road - there are makers of other adapters but research them before getting as some have bricked Switches. As for microSD get the biggest 400gb as that is far less then it used to cost.

The only real essential thing I recommend anyone with a Switch gets day 1 is a tempered glass screen protector. Mine has taken a couple hits I know would have wrecked the screen, but the tempered glass took in stride with not a mark. Careful as one may be, accidents happen.
So, if you don't get that particular case that comes with one, be sure to get a screen protector.

Otherwise an SD card is pretty well a necessity, as so many games have post-launch patches and DLC. Between that and if you get into buying digital at all, the on board storage gets eaten up pretty quickly.
