A little while back, I stopped playing Gravity Circuit. I don't know if I'm getting worse at games like this, but this game gets really, really difficult. The one thing I noticed about it is that the life recovery items are so rare... even Mega Man games are more generous in that respect. And heck, the last level I tried out, which was the highway level, had an instance of rude enemy placement. And there's a part later on that just feels impossible to get through... I got really frustrated so I stopped playing before getting to the boss. And this was all on normal difficulty. It's so disappointing that I had to drop this game, because I really wanted to like it more. I'll have to play on easy next time I play it.

AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
I have had to put down Xenoblade Chronicles X after putting in about 100 hours. It's a great game and I've really taken my time with it, thanks to having played the original release and rushed it. However, I've burnt myself uocking characters, building up there affinity to max, doing the heart to hearts and affinity missions ( so far ive completed all affinity missions up to chapter 8), completing all side quests up to chapter 8. It's a great game, there's alot you can do with it, but it can be very taxing for time, like most xeno games are in essence, amd I think now I need to give it a break. Its not going anywhere, but I'm going to play a lighter game for a bit. Shadowman is a good shout I think.
@Tanookduke I have stubbornly stuck with that game(the switch one) for a year. I got stuck at the third dungeon🤣
I got Skyward Sword for Switch just yesterday... What have i got myself into !?!?!??! T_T Why are Zelda games so hard... You sadistic maniac nintendo. T_T
@MangoMahn I got stuck at the mecha elephant boss with that one. T_T But if i try harder, i can probably figure out the way to beat it, i believe. I just don't have the energy for that kind of efford right now.
I dropped Metroid Prime for now, i don't know if i ever go back to it again. I don't feel like reading all the texts on the walls to figure out what is the hint in them to find my way around and stuff. They are too long and boring.
I recently dropped The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy. I shared my thoughts on a few articles on this site and Push Square, but I’ll repeat my response here.
I’ve been playing it for roughly 10 hours. I’m on day 14, and though I find the story compelling, I’m already feeling the burnout. I know more activities are going to open up, but not much to really expand on the gameplay, at least from what I’ve read.
I’m also not a fan of 75% of the characters. In the same vein as Persona - I know they will get better with time the more you learn about their past, unlock their true potential, but it’s a struggle to get to that point. In most Persona games, I typically feel a connection with its characters before backstories are revealed. It’s different with The Hundred Line.
Three characters that I am immediately annoyed by are:
Darumi - Her personality is exhausting. She’s like Harley Quinn, but taken to another level.
Gaku - He freaks out way too much, and is constantly in a state of panic that makes me personally feel overwhelmed.
3. Shouma - The self loathing pity party was funny at first, but it wears thin pretty quickly.
All other characters I can tolerate to a certain degree. In fact, Eito just developed significantly and I’ve unlocked his battle transformation. He seems be pretty cool. I also enjoy Hiruko and her storyline. It’s just getting to that point where I know the characters will develop — that’s where I’m struggling.
With all of that said, if it weren’t for the characters, I’d recommend this game. It has unique mechanics, a great story, and fun turn/grid base combat. There is a lot of depth to it, and genuine strategy; you can easily get wiped out if you’re not careful. I have gotten an S Rank on every battle I’ve done, though, and I’m not sure how. Unfortunately, it’s not consistently grabbing my attention so I think I’m going to put it to the side for now.
A buggy mess of a game. NPC models occasionally being invisible during cutscenes. NPC models t-posing during cutscenes. Co-op sessions hanging on transition / fade to black sequences. Those are the immersion-breaking happenings.
The gameplay and game systems themselves? I don't appreciate the strict adherence to the day / night cycle when it comes to mission acceptance or mission completion. Having to constantly go to and from the quest giver and the bed to cycle days...sucks.
I also feel that the paraglider isn't implemented very well. Combat is mechanically improved. But with the introduction of armored mobs, somehow the game feels like less of a power fantasy compared to Dying Light 1. Overall, when comparing DL 2 to DL 1, this feels like one step forward and two steps back.
I would rather just play Dying Light 1 again.
The response to DL 2 is probably why Techland's next game, Dying Light: The Beast, was changed from being DL 2 dlc to being a standalone game.
@Magician My son recent tried Dying Light 2 and pretty much said the same thing as you. He really enjoyed the first one but after playing the second one for about a week, he told me he was done with it and was trading it in. That he felt he would just replay the first one if he's wants to play Dying Light.

I was having trouble with Mario Sunshine's Petey refight thanks to the weird mechanics.
I keep coming back to this game, and every time I do my opinion of it changes wildly lol
Been playing Onimusha Dawn of Dreams again on PS2. I remember playing it when it initially released and kind of screwed myself over because I essentially played the game wrong. There's one main character, Soki, and four playable partner characters you can choose to bring on missions with you. I really didn't care about the partner characters, so I just poured most of my XP into levelling up Soki. However there's a sequence in the final act of the game in which you have to fight four bosses in a row with an individual partner. My party members were so under levelled it made these fights virtually impossible, so I ended up just dropping the game at that point.
Fast forward to today, and seeing as I recently replayed the previous three Onimushas I thought, you know what, I'm gonna give Dawn of Dreams another go, but actually bother to level my partners this time. And so I did, and got to the aforementioned boss marathon. It was still an absolute slog, but I got through it this time. Made it all the way to the second to last boss fight, which was epic as hell, they really should've ended the game there. Beat that boss, and got to the true final, final boss, and oh my god it sucks. It's one of those boss fights where you have to do a sequence of things in order to actually damage the boss, and only in a very limited window in which you just barely chip away at his health. Incredible frustrating, and I could probably do it if I really tried, but at this point, I just don't have the patience. There are good elements to this game, but it remains my least favourite in the series.
Even though this game gave a really good first impression, it struggles to run on the Switch. The procedural generation of enemies causes severe framerate dips. As I was playing with a friend the game soft-locked because of those dips. Mildly tragic, we were having a good time up until then.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster. To be clear it's the Xbox Series X version. I grew up playing the original on the PS2 and is indeed one of my favorite games of all time. The remake is beautifully done and a great remaster. The problem is me sadly. I guess playing it for along as I did on PS2 I just cant for whatever reason make things work the the Xbox controller. The face buttons on an Xbox controller are just to close to each other unlike the PS controllers. As a result I just cant get combo or tricks to work and after a while my hand just cramps up due to the fact that I have to do this weird claw thing with my hand to be able to press the buttons.
So untill either I can use a Playstation controller on my Xbox which isnt going to happen or this game goes on sale for PS4, I will be dropping this game.

@Tasuki They're not the cheapest - probably similar to a new controller to be honest - but Brooke do a product called the Wingman for the Xbox consoles that allows various PlayStation controllers (and others) to be used on Xbox consoles. I haven't used the Xbox ones TBH, but I've got a different model for the PS3 that allows me to use the Series X controller or 8bitdo as my PS3 controllers don't work so well any more.
A game about choice and consequence. Basically an 8-bit walking simulator with a whole bunch of foul language. I'm not in the mood for this right now. Skip.
