Bandai Namco seems to have selected every IP they own that I DON'T care about and ported it to Switch.

I want to see Soul Calibur VI, Ace Combat 7, Tales of Berseria, and Code Vein come to Switch. I was glad to see Ni No Kuni and Vesperia come, but I already have those on other consoles.

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

The Switch really needs more great fighting games. Virtua Fighter, SoulCalibur, Street Fighter IV, and Fight Night Champion would all be amazing on Switch. I would also like to see a Phantasy Star Online game, even a rerelease of the Dreamcast games with online play.

Gotta agree. There’s a difference between what you wish would come and what actually should come because it would be a good fit. But buckle up cause it's gonna be a long post, not all specifically answering you, so dont feel obligated to read it all 😉

As much as I hate to say it there is a very limited market on the system for shooters. Sniper Elite v2 and Sniper Elite III and Zombie Army Trilogy. All amazing games, great fun, good ports, with gyro, full 720p in handheld mode... couldn’t even crack the top 100 on the eShop charts, much less the top 30.

Wolfenstein 2 did pretty poorly too, I think. Even DOOM, which is the shooter that has almost certainly done the best, may not even have sold 1m units by now. Wolfenstein Youngblood did even worse (though admittedly, that was deserved- the game was mediocre).

Games like Saints Row 3 and 4 do a little better, but they have an exactly set the charts on fire either. Assassins Creed has seemingly done ok, but that was only after years of releasing to poor sales on Nintendo consoles. Nintendo fans didn’t want to touch it the first time, because they don’t tend to trust anything that doesn’t have a Nintendo logo on it. It was only after a decade of prominence and reputation and word-of-mouth that Switch owners finally gave Assassins Creed IV Black Flag the due it deserves. And even then I don’t think the Rebel Collection has done that well.

Dark Souls, don’t think it did too well. There’s a very limited set of fans who like that game and wanted it on hand held. The people that did want it were extremely vocal about it because they love that game to death and the idea of having it on a hybrid console means the world to them. The problem isn’t with the intensity of excitement but rather the breadth.

All this to say, there really is less of a market for third-party games on the system. With the exception of JRPGs and indies. Those tend to do just as well if not better. All the Final Fantasy games, Kingdom Hearts games, Persona games, etc, should be on Switch. I don’t know if it’s possible but if they can get it running, Final Fantasy VII Remake should come to Switch. Absolutely. We know it’s coming to Xbox and PC after 1 yr exclusivity (btw, why is nobody upset over them paying off a year of exclusivity? There was hell to pay when Microsoft paid to keep Tomb Raider off of PS, but when it’s the other way around it’s celebrated?). And it’s not like it’s an open world game or anything like FFXV. If they tried they could get that game on the system and they absolutely should. Persona 5 should come to Switch. Kingdom Hearts 1.5, 2.5, 3.14159 and everything in between should come to Switch.

Monster Hunter World should come to Switch. Resident Evil 2, 3, 4 Remakes should come to Switch. These are games that do extremely well on the system. Everyone else is getting their open world current gen games on the system, yet Capcom can’t get these games on? It really is an insult. These are games that should be on the system, yet are not because Capcom doesn’t care. They just don’t care. They see easy money on other platforms and have no desire whatsoever to actually grow as a brand or expand their fan base. They just want to cash in on platforms that they feel confident that as long as it has good graphics it will sell. It’s insurance in case the game isn’t received as well, Capcom knows this and so they exploit it. And I’m not saying their games aren’t good, I'm saying they sell disproportionately well thanks to their graphics because if we’re being completely honest, the hype from RE2 and RE3 remake is completely unjustified, being remix of games that already existed and yet weren’t as good as the brand new games they made in the Revelations series, yet sold 10x more on those platforms. That’s the graphics safety net in action.

GTAV should be on Switch. Agreed. Why rockstar would put LA Noire on Switch but not GTA... it boggles my mind. I’m amazed they’ve managed to sell 100 million copies when they make decisions like this that even a stoned monkey could best. Even if it required a 30 GB download, who cares, it’s not like 2K isn’t already doing that.

Plants vs Zombies should come to Switch. It’s just a really good fit and I don’t understand why EA has been so reluctant. While it’s true many of their games aren’t that good of a fit that doesn’t mean none of them are. The fact they are so blind to the games that are so obviously a good fit astounds me. Burnout Paradise is a good fit. Glad it’s coming. Finally. The Sims 4 should also come.

Ni No Kuni 2 should come. I’m pretty sure the switch version of the first outsold the PS4. Why they would make the sequel PS4 exclusive voluntarily, and then voluntarily choose to not bring it over to Switch afterwards despite that, sometimes makes me think that the people who are making these decisions are legitimately clueless, or no different than your average console warring gamer. As if they have been making games for one system for so long, they’ve become emotionally attached and now have an agenda to keep their games off Switch even when they know it’s the right business decision. Because, how else do you explain something like this? I don’t get it.

Same for Tales of. Tales of Vesperia actually outsold all other versions globally. We know this because even in the UK which is Nintendo‘s weakest market it was neck and neck. In Japan it out sold it in in the US by all metrics and charts it was way ahead. Yet they don’t plan for switch with their new game. They don’t even plan for switch by bringing over previous games, such as Tales of Berseria or heck, even Tales of Zesteria. Goodness, even Tales of Symphonia HD would be an easy port from STEAM and we know it can run.

Nier Automata should come to Switch. Why hasn’t it? Tomb Raider trilogy and Life Is Strange games should come to Switch. Deus Ex Mankind Divided and yes, Human Revolution should come to Switch. I have no idea why Square Enix is so reluctant to put anything on the system besides older JRPGs. Yes, we know Deus Ex didn’t sell well on Wii U. NOTHING sold well on Wii U. That’s not evidence of anything. I don’t think Deus Ex would be a huge success, but I think it would do well enough since there is not much of the genre on off.

Batman Arkham games should come to Switch. Even just the Arkham Collection. Forget Knight. This is a huge missed opportunity. And while I admit, FPS are the least good fit for Switch, Far Cry 3 at the very least should come to Switch. It’s easy money since the game can run, add Gyro and put some feelers out to see if it’s worth bringing other games in the series. If not? That’s fine. At least you get a little exposure on the system with that franchise. Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 should come to Switch. And probably will. Metal Gear Solid V should come to Switch. That game sold tons of copies, yet they don’t even want to subcontract it out to cash in on switch? Of course not. Because if it’s not Bomberman or Pachinko, they don’t care. Unless it’s PS or Xbox. Then they’ll bring games on a silver platter. Because OF COURSE nobody on Switch would buy Castlevania Lords of Shadow 1 and 2. Nobody likes that franchise. Or even Symphony of the Night. Clearly PS fans are the only ones interested in that /s

If you couldn’t tell, I can’t help but harbor some resentment towards some of these companies that just completely disregard the system. But, we've seen alot of progress, more than I expected actually. And I'm betting some of these mentioned games do come over eventually.

@JaxonH Hear, hear! All good games from great devs with strong connections to Nintendo's past... why shouldn't they be here?

I would love to see some kind of modern Ninja Gaiden Collection. Would be brilliant to have gems like Ninja Gaiden Black or Ninja Gaiden 2 on a cartridge.

I mean, I understand part of the problem was self inflicted by Nintendo themselves. They failed to provide a viable platform for these games for so long where they could both run properly and sell well, that all the devs got used to omitting Nintendo platforms, and that isnt easily fixed overnight.

Still, they've had multiple years to adapt now (we're in our FOURTH year of Switch) and some of these are downright perplexing, and I can only hope a lot is in the works we dont know about.

I would love to see the following games:

The Fable series: part one is a must play and I think it would be a perfect fit for Nintendo. Switch should easily run that game for it is a original Xbox title. Part 2 and 3 are meh, but still very fun.

The Batman Arkham series: I think this is rumored. All 4 of them are exceptional games. As for the latest one, I’m not sure if the switch will run it.

Metal gear solid 5: very good metal gear game. Story is sub par, but the gameplay is fantastic. The Fox engine scales very good, so who knows.

Conkers bad fur day: need I say more? Also a good fit on a Nintendo system.

Furthermore I would like to see more strategie games. RTS or management games. Switch is perfect for that.

The main thing I'm still surprised that we don't have is the Kingdom Hearts collection (everything before 3).

That's such an obvious good fit for the Switch with its cartoony style. It'd definitely be able to run well too, given that it's all PS2/PSP/3DS games originally.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

Maybe it's because I've been obsessed with classic Doom these past few months, but I'd love more 90s shooters I missed out on. System Shock, Unreal, Quake, Dark Forces...

I know I can get them all on PC through Good Old Games, but the Switch is so practical. I mean, I hadn't tried Doom before its Switch release, and now it's one of my all-time favorites.

@Beaucine There is a disturbing lack of Half-Life on that list...

@Alpha-2002

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think Half-Life is great. It's one of the high points of 90s gaming. But it also inaugurated the modern FPS, along with Deus Ex, Thief, and System Shock 2. I was referring to the genre's earlier Doom-inspired era.

Lately I've been hoping for some lesser appreciated games from years gone by.

Dead Island - an awesomely-bad open world action/rpg zombie apocalypse from the PS3/360 era. To my knowledge Deep Silver (and thereby THQ Nordic) still hold the rights to the first game and the spinoff/sequel Riptide. And since Techland have said that they have zero interest in porting Dying Light to Switch, I would take Dead Island as an alternative.

Journey - the gorgeous 3D platformer whose composer won a multitude of awards for when the game originally released back on the PS3 some years ago. Annapurna published the PC port of Journey just last year. There's no reason for Journey to not be on Switch.

Rez HD - Rez is one of those classic games that Enhance brings to every platform possible, eventually.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)

Would love to see some classic Amiga games on the Switch.. Alien Breed, Speedball2, Syndicate, that kind of thing.

Everything should come to Switch.

But for me the ones that would get me most hyped if announced in a Direct are:

Persona 3/4/5
SMT Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga
Nier Automata
Danganronpa series
Zero Escape series
Trails Of Cold Steel 1&2
More Tales Of games
Spelunky

A lot of these I can play on my PS3 or Vita, but especially if not on handheld it means I just won’t have time.

Hey @StuTwo, I do agree that Wii Sports in any way should be ported. But I would up the ante, by putting in a Deluxe Edition of Wii Sports Resort (maybe with Mii Sports Deluxe Edition or something like that), where:

All Sports from Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are in there, with all Mini Games.

The Island Flyover should have no time limit (that could go into a Pilotwings Resort remake).

Any further Wii Sports chat from me should really be saved for another thread, but I’ve got more games to propose:

Mario Strikers Charged Football
Wii Play
Wii Party
Super Mario Galaxy Series (BOTH games- mind you, the first game could be part of a Super Mario All Starts Vol. 2 as reports seem to suggest).
Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie

Any others I missed?

"Games That Should Come to Switch"

Simple: Nintendo's ENTIRE back catalog, up until and including EVERY Wii U title.

That's never gonna happen, obviously, because we're talking about Nintendo here, and they're probably going to stretch out releasing GameCube titles until somewhere in 2035...

But a man can dream, right?

I don’t see why we can’t dream. I’d prioritise any games that haven’t already been remade for this generation. Don’t forget, the Switch could be in for a lengthy life cycle given the disappointment the Wii U had.

Miis aren’t used that often on the Switch, which is why I’m calling for Mii Sports Deluxe (Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort + possibly Wii Sports Club all rolled into 1 game) and a Pilotwings Resort remake, with new features, new aircraft, new missions and unlimited Free Roam (Maximum Time Limit to fly was 5 Minutes).

There are others I’d want but I’d be taking up the thread and it’s likely that Nintendo won’t listen.
