Topic: Games like Pico Park . . .

Hey everyone,

Hoping to get some help here.

What other games are like Pico Park?

It seems to have hit a mutual chord with my family. It's multiplayer, at least up to 4. This one I think goes up to 8? It has quick short levels. Each world is quick to finish. And then you're on to something different in the next world. And it's not a fighting game. And its inexpensive!

Kinda platforming with a bit of puzzling in there. But with co-op play. (Not a fighting game.)

Pico Park was a hit and now I'm wondering what other games like it are out there.

We already have Super Mario Party and Carnival Games.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm not familiar with Pico Park, but how about Kirby Star Allies or Kirby Return to Dreamland? They are 4 player co-op platformers too.

@Servbot_EJ

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, those are 2 good games. We have both of those already.

Me and my youngest finished Kirby Star Allies. And my youngest finished Kirby Return to Dreamland on the Wii with her friend. My wife and oldest aren't as into the platformers as me and my youngest.

I guess I'm looking for something less serious where the levels are much shorter that all four of us can play.

If you want something with quick levels where each one is different to the last then WarioWare takes that to the extreme, so that might be a good option. On Switch there's Get It Together and the upcoming Move It. In both cases the story mode is only up to 2 players but there's a party mode with 4-player minigames.

I'd say Move It will probably be better for pick-up-and-play multiplayer (without having played it myself yet, obviously) because it seems to be traditional WarioWare but with motion controls, whereas in Get It Together you directly control a character and each one has different abilities, so players who haven't got used to the characters will be at a disadvantage. But if your family are used to gaming and are happy to play through the story mode themselves or in pairs (it's not very long and it introduces the characters one at a time) that may not be a problem.

Edit: Just remembered Runbow, which you might like as well. It's a party platformer where you race to the end of the level, and there's also a story mode where you can go at your own pace instead of racing if you prefer (though you get medals for beating certain times).

Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online

@Dogorilla

Thanks.

Oh, yeah . . . I had forgotten about WarioWare.

I think we downloaded the demo for Get It Together. We'll have to give that another try. And I'll have to take a look at Move It.

RE: Runbow. Yes. We have that. We don't play it that much anymore. We've played it quite a bit. We actually had that on the Wii U as well. Running was fun. But I think our favourite was the King of the Hill game.

Another game that kinda had that vibe was an old WiiWare game we got called Gnomz. Instead of just being an all out fighting game, you were either trying to collect the most amount of socks, or in a different game trying to be holding the sock the longest. If they had that game for the Switch I would totally buy it again. As it is, we still have our Wii hooked up to play that game.

But I'll have to take another look at the WarioWare games.

Thanks!

I was doing some research on co-op games and came across a couple that I thought would be fun with the family.

Anyone looking for co-op games . . . here are a couple that are on sale right now . . .

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

Trash Sailors

From the videos, they look hilarious.

I just picked them up, and they are downloaded to our Switch . . . now depending on if anyone has homework or not, maybe we can give these games a go tonight. (fingers crossed . . . LOL.)

I have 8 kids, so I'm pretty well-versed in Switch multiplayer games
Pico Park is one of our favorites. Other games we really enjoy include:

Unspottable
Hidden in Plain Sight
Gang Beasts
Ultimate Chicken Horse
Spider Heck
Stick Fight: The Game
Knight Squad
Smash Bros
Mario Kart
Overcooked

Unspottable and Hidden in Plain Sight are the same basic concept, but it's well worth getting both of them, as they have significant differences. Also, while Hidden in Plain Sight is not a good looking game, don't be deceived... it's an absolute blast.

Git gud!

I got to say thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I greatly appreciate it.

@sketchtuner

The last three . . . we had already.

Unspottable and Hidden in Plain Sight look pretty interesting. I'm going to get those for sure.

As for the 2 games I got . . . we ended up playing Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime a couple of times. Each time finishing off a level. With the 4 of us, we seemed to have enough players to run around the ship firing off the guns, steer / drive and move the shield to make it not so frustrating, and more fun. LOL.

We didn't get around to playing Trash Sailors yet. When I suggested it, my family wanted to play Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime again. LOL.

That and Kart & Overcooked 2. We didn't get around to finishing off Pico Park LOL.

Again, thanks for the help! I greatly appreciate it.

UPDATE:

Ok. We got around to getting Unspottable, and that is a fun game. The 4 of us have played it and it was hilarious. And it says up to 8 players! So when friends come over, less people waiting for their turn! Thanks for the recommendation!

The other game we got that we've been putting in a lot of time on is . . . Fueled Up. Very much like Overcooked!, except in space. Since we finished (and enjoyed) Overcooked! 2, we were looking for something similar to tackle next.

2 Great Games!

EDIT: Oh, yeah . . . looking at the lists above, I went and started the download of the demo for Hidden in Plain Sight to try out. That looks hilarious too.
