Topic: Game access problems

Well not really access problems, but a few of my game cards are damaged beyond further use and I obviously can't play my games without them.
So I was wondering that if I got a micro sd card and did a data transfer, would the sd card then act as a game card?

Your retail game cartridges were damaged? You'd have to purchase the game again, this time off the eShop, if you wanted to play the game off either the internal memory or a micro sd card. Unless you're using a hack Switch and playing backups. But that's a grey area I know very little about.

@TheMann Sorry to hear that, that blows. Just out of interest, how did they get damaged, cos they always struck me as pretty sturdy looking and resistant to easy damage.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@Magician I'm just curious, would that mean if I bought them off the e shop again would it no longer require the game card to actually access/play the game or no?

@TheMann - The choice is yours. If your physical copy is damaged you could simply purchase another. But if you want the convenience of playing games off your internal storage or a micro sd card (legitimately) you'll have to purchase it digitally off the eShop. Playing a digital copy of a game purchased from the eShop doesn't require you to own a physical copy of that game.

The only concern is file size. Some games are larger in file size than what the Switch allows to be saved to its internal storage. In which case you would need to purchase a micro sd card in order to download and play those games.

@TheMann You can't transfer a game from game card to micro sd/internal memory (that would be great though). The only way to put a game on a micro sd card, or nternal memory, is to buy it digitally.

@TheMann How the heck did you manage to break your game cartridges? They're pretty damn sturdy, so you'd REALLY have to put in an effort to seriously damage them. I'd even go so far as to say that with normal use, i.e. as you SHOULD be using them, that's absolutely impossible.

Eh, it certainly wasn't through normal use, @ThanosReXXX .... I'm sure the OP was careful, it was probably kids or something
