I really hope when they reveal the new Fire Emblem game for the Switch that it has no Avatar character. Am I alone in finding characters like Chrom, Xander and Ryoma much more interesting and engaging then the Avatar's?
As much as I like Awakening and Fates (and I like both quite a bit), I would much rather just follow Chrom without the Avatar, and follow Xander and Ryoma as twin/shared main characters in Fates.
I'm confused, did the blue guys from that James Cameron film made an appearance on the 3DS entries? I didn't notice them. If that's the case, then I agree with this thread. If I wanted any blue guys involved with my games I'll be playing a Smurfs game or listening to Blue Man Group while playing.
I think he is trying to say that he rather to see the story about how all the characters act in the story rather than make up your own story or keep praising you for your hard work.
Sound like to me that he rather have an 3rd person storyline than 1st person storyline.
I think they'd be able to strike a balance. Have an Avatar character that you can customize, but don't have it be the main character (like in Fates) or the secondary main character (like in Awakening).
I believe New Mystery of the Emblem (a remake of Fire Emblem 3 that was only released in Japan) had something like this.
The hell is wrong with an Avatar MC? I don't understand your complaint.
I find both Robin and Corrin bland, boring, whiny characters that I'd never use in battles if I wasn't forced too. Characters like Chrom, Ryoma and Xander are much more interesting and I'd much rather see them as the focus/main characters of the games.
