The Vangard edition is on sale right now at Amazon, but this site and others have yet to review…anyone out there played this and liked it?

It's...an alright series of rpg. They're not action/rpg like Ys VIII or Diablo III and they're not turn/menu based like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest. There's a counter/defense system in the game, something close to what you'd find in Batman Arkham or Assassin's Creed, except on a 2D plane rather a 3D plane in those games. The combat helps the series stand out from other rpgs, but I'd say it's even slower than games with a turn/menu system.
