How do you mostly play with your Nintendo Switch, docked on the TV or simply handheld? And is there really a better way in playing with it or is this simply a matter of personal preference? If it's not too much to ask, I need your experience and advise on the matter. Thank you.
@adorhino I primarily play docked, think a bigger screen is more immersitve. But, it seems to be personal preference. Plenty of people here have mentioned they only/mostly handheld.
Mostly Docked, because I stream everything I own legally, so. But when I go to Granma's place I do play Handheld.

@adorhino there are some games that are made for handheld and other games like fortnite that will really need a bigger screen to play on. the switch in hand held mode would be to small, to play on the small screen. Are you buying a switch ?
I mostly play in docked mode these days. I used to play it in both docked and handheld mode (particularly in campus), but since the COVID-19 pandemic has been a thing for over a year now, I haven't been taking my Switch out in public. I do play in handheld mode occasionally, but that's done in home now. A couple of additional reasons why I like playing in docked mode is because I like having a big screen to play my games on, and I really like playing them with my Switch pro controller.
It's a particularly nice feature of the Switch that you can pop it in and out of the dock and keep playing most games. Only a very small number will only work one way or the other.
Right now as I am back to live alone and with no comute I play mostly docked (my preferred option with the pro controller) but when I was not alone I was playing mostly handheld and before when living in london it was 50/50 as I was carrying the switch with me all the time
@Ninfan I own both Switch Lite and Switch Regular. I bought the Switch Lite first but then I had to upgrade as some games are really too small to play on the Lite like AO Tennis and BOTW and I was curious how the Regular Switch operates. Ironically, I haven't been playing on the TV for months since I bought it. I'm a casual player to begin with so I don't play as often as I should. Anyway, I like playing with the Switch Regular on handheld mode now that the screen's slightly bigger. Maybe I should find the time to play on the TV. Otherwise, it would be such a waste of hard-earned money. Thanks.
I only play Switch handheld. My wife and I usually play Multiplayer games together in bed on ours.
If I'm on the TV, I would rather play one of my other consoles so I don't have to put up with the downgrades.
Rough guess by the average of about 20 hours I play every week.
70% handheld, 20% docked, and 10% tabletop.

It has become a 50/50 thing to me.
I don't want to block the telly when my girlfriend wants to watch the evening news and sometimes another program afterwards.
Since January 2021 owner of my first real Nintendo "home" console.
Mine is kind of genre dependent. For a more action based game such as Monster Hunter, docked with a pro controller is the best way for me. Other games such as puzzle games, tactical or strategy RPG's I'd play in handheld as they don't require much fine motor skill.
With still being in Covid lockdown here, I'm probably leaning more towards playing docked as I'm not commuting or travelling much.
Handheld almost 100% of the time unless we're playing a multiplayer game like Kart or Smash or something like that. Very rare I'll play a single player game docked nowadays.
