Probably the wrong one to be posting in, but it is what it is.

I just have one question..

If you buy a game from the eshop, get a good ways through the game and decide to buy a hard copy - will the memory from the digital game be transferred onto the hard copy?

@j0ellyfish Ahhhhh, 'tis a very good question! Game save data is stored exclusively on switch internal memory. You can get the physical game later, if you want, no problem. The switch doesn't care if you have the digital game or physical. When you boot up a game on the switch, the system makes you select Switch user profile, which is your game save profile, and you'll resume the game where ever you left it.

So yeah, game save data is not stored on cartridges. You could use any cartridge to resume your game.

And if you have NOA cloud storage that helps should you change Switch and games saves are Cloud stored to redownload them to another console as well.
