Hi all, I do a video game tournament once a year for family and friends. I pick 6 to 8 games and we compete to see who is the best overall. Does anyone have any suggestions for some unusual games I could include?
Previous games I've included, plus how much people enjoyed them.
Rayman Legends Kungfoot - 5/5
Arms - 5/5
Bomberman R - 5/5
Starwal - 4/5
Pangya Golf - 4/5
Donkey Konga 2 - 5/5
Nidhogg 2 - 3/5 (Rounds are too long)
Towerfall - 4/5
Worms - 3/5 (Takes too long)
Burnout Revenge - 3/5 (A bit glitchy in splitscreen)
Mario Kart 8 - 5/5
Crash Team Racing - 3/5 (felt a bit like a time trial, as we all ended up spread out)
Smash Bros Ultimate - 4/5
Dragon Ball FighterZ - 3/5 (Takes too Long)
Puzzle Bobble Wiiware - 2/5 (There's a glitch in vs mode which causes one players score to disappear)
Shock Troopers - 3/5
Scribble - 5/5
Runbow - 4/5
Overcooked 2 - 1/5 (found it more stressful than fun, playing with first timers)
Splatoon 2 is brilliant, but not a hidden gem . The thing I really like about it is its easy to play . Another game, which I'd call a hidden gem would is yet another zombie defense , if you just look at the gameplay of it , it shows how the game plays and looks very good maybe not for a kid though.
Horizon Chase Turbo
Runbow
Party Golf
Super Bomberman R
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Switch Physical Collection - 1,251 games (as of April 24th, 2024)

Thanks for the suggestions. Party Golf looks like a good shout. The rest I've already got. I'll amend my original post, with games we've included previously.
Some lesser known indies (I'll link the names to their Nintendo page since I have nothing better to do right now, haha):
Astro Duel Deluxe - Sort of like a multiplayer battle version of Asteroid. It's not super deep, but it can be some quick fun.
Big Crown: Showdown - It's kind of a platform battler. You've got to try to stay on the platform as it scrolls while also trying to knock the other players off. (note: no single player and online is dead, so you really need friends for this one)
Invisigun Reloaded - Everyone is invisible, so you have to stealth around and try to take out the other players. It uses the old 2D Zelda top-down view and pixel graphics.
Killer Queen Black - Unique team-based platform battler with multiple ways to win.
Light Fingers - Slower paced board game style game where you have to steal the most loot to win.
Rival Megagun - It's a PvP shmup where you need to stay alive on your side of the screen, while also dishing off attacks to the player on the other side. When you fill your meter, you can transform into a boss and directly fight the other player. (note: it's only a 2 player game)
Roof Rage - Kind of like a 2D pixel art Smash Bros., but with a few differences. Players have health bars as well, so they can be KO'd not just by being knocked off the screen. So I guess it's kind of a fusion of Street Fighter and Smash.
Screencheat: Unplugged - Another game where everyone is invisible, but this one is in the FPS style and you're tasked with "screen cheating" in order to find and kill the other players.
SpiritSphere DX - Sort of a tennis or air hockey kind of game where you need to volley a ball back and forth by slashing at it with a weapon and try to score on the other team.
Super Sportmatchen - It seems to be inspired by some of the old Konami sports compilation games, but with weird, inventive sports instead of traditional ones. It's not very deep, and the sports are kind of hit and miss, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Treasure Stack - Puzzle game where you have to grapple down falling treasure chests and match them with keys of the same color.
I got most of these games on sale, so I might not recommend all of them at full price, but you can see whether you think they'd be worth it or not if you find any of them interesting.
Thanks for the links. There's a bunch that I hadn't heard of. Invisigun is a definite contender. The megagun game looks very similar to a neogeo game I've got(I think it's called twinkle star sprites). The tennis game looks interesting as well, however I'm thinking of including Windjammers 2 this year, and it might be too similar.
@Wargoose I never played Advance Wars, but I've exclusively been playing Wargroove in multiplayer so far. Games can be a little long if you play on large maps, but it's enjoyable imo
@kellynicole450.if you mean online multiplayer. a real handy game where I don't have to break my back playing it, I would say splatoon 2. Good offline too.
You could always try out Mario Party Superstars, since that just came out (and I'm sure it's VERY competitive) but I'm not sure you could call that a "hidden gem".
I am a piece of bread, and I love playing 3D World.
The Switch is one of the best consoles ever.
I'm guessing people will make a lot of jokes about my username.
