Topic: Burnout 2023 DO NOT BUY!!!

I haven't posted here in awhile, but I run a small obscure switch game review blog called the Game Slush Pile. I have come across Burnout on the e-shop, a scam knockoff title by a scam game publisher Midnight Works and their subsidiary, Game to Top. It is purposely designed to confuse with the famous EA series.
I have written a review of the game and I'm not sure I can link to it here. However, I'm more concerned about getting the word out about the game in general, to warn people not to buy it, because I know clueless people will. I'm not sure what else I can do other than post here to alert Nintendo Life to its existence.

That's the e-shop page. Know its 100% a lie. The real game is bottom-barrel garbage, and nobody should buy it.
Thanks!

Good eye. I figured that the hideous screenshots and suspiciously low price would be red flags. There are quite a lot of "AAA franchise from Wish" shovelware floating around.

My general rule is to go for the king of the genre. For example, when I booted up Crash N Sane Trilogy, I asked myself why I was playing that when I could have been playing something like Super Mario Odyssey instead (that I had yet to complete 100%).

Life's too short to settle for mediocrity.

Porygon did nothing wrong.

@Mordridakon I would argue, anyone that knows what the Burnout series is would see that game's eshop page and know that game is probably a POS by looking at the screen shots, and that it has no relation to the popular Burnout series.

Other red flags:

  • No screenshots of crashing with other cars.
  • No gameplay footage. (this is the biggest red flag to me on eshop. If the game developer/publisher can't show footage, they are probably hiding jank garbage, asset flip.)
  • All those photos are just cars sitting in a small lot, nothing like the popular Burnout series.

I don't mean any of this to sound condescending. This is how I avoid eshop garbage. I've already tried a cheap game on eshop. Now that regretable game purchase lives forever in the Redownload page(on eshop) to remind me of the mistake.

@WoomyNNYes You would think people would have discerning eyes, but considering how much pure unadulterated garbage winds up on the switch best sellers list, they don't.
Doing the GSP for 13 months has made me realize that yes, people will buy the garbage shovelware.

The eShop is a cesspool of asset flips and palette swaps. Nintendo gets their slice, so they don't care about the tragic state of the eShop and the sheer lack of curation on the quality of games they publish from their third party partners. If a buyer doesn't vet their purchase beforehand eh...joke's on you.

Super cyborg looks fun and farm builder looks like a fun cacassone clone

If i had to reccomend hidden gems? Rento, happy words and mad bullets(even better if you get the revolver accessories but they only work with that one game due to joy con placement)
