Topic: Breath of the Wild MAJOR LAG!!

Just a PSA and wondering if anyone has experienced similar... during a particularly manic encounter on Sunday afternoon with treehouse bokoblins (fireballs, arrows, melee attacks everywhere) my switch went into a major lag fest. Now I mean a complete slowdown where the action stuttered and chugged and stopped for a combination of a good 30 seconds (like a bad online movie stream). Completely freaked me out that my switch was bricking. My switch was in docked mode with the dock outwith a tv unit (so assuming it's not air circulation). Only contributing factor was it was a marathon session (maybe three hours in?). Totally fine afterwards and into the evening. Anyone had similar?

lag is not a crash. Just saying there is a pretty big difference between massive lag and the system crashing to a blue screen or auto restarting.

When you say lag you mean FPS drops right? Anyhow yer I have noticed a lot of FPS drops (only played in TV mode). I think the game is fairly unoptimizied and needs patching. With this being the major title at launch you would of thought Nintendo would of tried to get this at a solid 30fps.

Only time I've noticed gameplay-affecting frame drops was traveling up to Zora's domain when all those Lizalfos start firing lightning arrows at the same time.

I do hope Nintendo continues to patch the game. Open-world games tend to have this sort of stuff happening early in their life spans, and the companies typically patch them to improve performance. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
