@NintendoByNature my biggest recommendation is to first max out the freelancer job on all characters to have the job points enhancers abilities. It will make the grind much faster (also jobs are maxed out way quicker than on the original (that I am playing now and it is kind of boring in that regard))
I'm really digging the art style, to be honest. I'm playing mostly on TV this time, though, whereas I played the demo handheld. I think the backgrounds are beautiful. I also like the characters more than I thought I would, except for Elvis. His personality is fun, but his aesthetic seems kind of weird.
Was playing for a about 45 min yesterday. Barely scratched the surface but I was so tired I ended up falling asleep while playing lol. I'll dig in later tonight.
@NintendoByNature I would suggest as much as possible not to grind exp and JP too early. Grinding can get tedious and is not necessary (bosses can still wipe the floor with you even if you are over leveled). Beating all the enemies along the way is enough to get through the story. Main thing is to understand the battle system, job system and synergizing abilities, and using enemy weaknesses to your advantage.
Also, learn multiple job abilities and try to spread them out among your party members. I would suggest having 2 main physical jobs and the other 2 magical/healing jobs. Good luck and have fun.
I know you can assign jobs any way you like, but are certain characters predisposed to certain jobs like you see in some other games? Like, I know Elvis can take any job technically, but is he naturally a better pick for casting jobs? Not sure if base stats or growth stats are different between characters.
Well, I'm not sure just how well I'd remember anything too specific, @rallydefault .... Like all the side-quests or bosses, etc! But I'm sure between us we can probably cover the vast majority of stuff pretty well
@rallydefault if you dedicate some time to do the main characters side quests you will love all 4 by end game (yes, even Elvis). It is by far my favourite parte of the game
Not sure if this has been posted already, but the game is currently only £24.97 in Currys PC World in the UK. Seems like a good price for those that haven't already picked it up. This one's been on and off my wishlist a few times as it's had mixed reviews, but will likely pull the trigger at that price.
@VoidofLight not sure you're talking about personality (that I tend to agree with the op that he is kind of annoying at start) or on gameplay but that you can change as you like with the job system
@BruceCM its going great! I'm about 5 hours in and having a good time. Silly me didn't realize you can have a main job and sub job. Do you just get more job points towards the main job then? Or how does it work with having two jobs and what are the downsides, if any to using two jobs?
@NintendoByNature If I remember correctly, you only level up the jobs that are equipped as their main job, but there's no drawbacks to using jobs as their side job, other than picking a bad combo.
