@VoidofLight yeah, it has its quirks. I generally don't like how action bars worked in older FF games where it went up even while you were selecting attacks in real time. This way is less stressful. But they seem to have made the jobs this time around with it in mind. I like the feel of getting 2 or 3 turns in a row on a character before the enemy comes around. The way they handled it worked out. I do miss the crazy combo tactics though. As cheese as it was, in the first game with the time time mage and Valkyrie for grinding was awesome.
@komodo182 yeah, its really cool when I realized that you could use tactics to make a negative into a positive like that. The fast hands passive I realized was not good to use with this combo, but normally its great to patch up a tank's terrible speed.
So yesterday I defeated sidequests bosses Treant and D-Verd. I probably wouldn't have defeated the former on my first try if I didn't have a certain powerful job. Never thought they would put such a strong boss at the prologue of the game. Glad I never fight it until yesterday.

@komodo182 I imagine that the boss attacked the party before they could even act. And if by luck one examine the boss, it only served to confirm one was doomed. It happened to me with Jothum, the boss from the Rimedhal graveyard.

@Diddy64 I also got wiped out there haha. Didn't even get a turn either time. But went back later on and destroyed them both. I was level 75 at that time haha.
@komodo182 I got to admit that despite being defeated by some of these bosses, I actually like that there are so many them to fight. Hope they keep this concept for the next entry.

This weekend I finally got back to it after a couple of weeks break. Finished chapter 6 as I was only missing the final asterisk and have so far grinded 11 asterisks to legendary. At the moment I am having my butt kicked by the other asterisks group battles so I am tented to have a look at the final boss to see how much of a challenge it is
Paired with spiritmaster with both legendary, you can do 30,000 for each party member to all targets. (You need sub 2 ability-forget what its really called). You basically get unlimited bp,mp, decent hp healing, bauna and reviving. Doesn't work on every boss, but it works great on most. So in one row of all your team attacking, you deal 120,000 to all targets. Make sure to have the counter savvy ability too. Noble sacrifice is useful too.
After taking my time with most of the possible bosses, I will finally start doing the "Legendary Job" mastering. This time I'll start with the first one instead of doing the second and the last one (which I did being underleveled 😅).

Honestly, I'd save the portals for post-game, after you defeat the final boss, since doing those first would really just absolutely destroy them when you get to it.
