(Huge spoilers incoming, for the whole game. Potential Final boss spoilers) The chapter 6 boss, Night's Nexus is interesting to say the least. I quit part ways in due to my switch dying, so I'll have to give it another shot tomorrow. I got like to the hands phase, which I think is counted as the second phase in the ost, and the music that plays when you fight it is really good honestly. This boss seems really easy at first, and then out of no-where just gets harder and harder over time, with you having to fight it multiple times apparently. I also don't like how the hands just decide to regenerate after a bit, and how the thing can actually heal often.
@Diddy64 That’s a good idea about the beasts. I’m at the beginning of Chapter 4 now. I really enjoyed Chapter 3 and that one was my favorite yet. Haven’t been playing much BD2 at the moment because, you know, Monster Hunter. When it comes to the battles, it’s been a lot easier since I’ve been getting more jobs, but some bosses can catch me off guard if I’m too complacent and risky.
@timleon I can't say I really needed to grind in BD2. I did a bit before Chapter 7 , but I think it was not required. If you group the right jobs and abilities together, you can win fairly easily. I only played on normal, so maybe more grinding is needed in hard mode.
@Diddy64 Thanks for the comparison. I did hear that the first game gets a bit repetitive later on so that made me reluctant to start it.
Do you really need to grind to finish these games? I'm not a big fan of grinding but I don't really remember having to grind in Octopath Traveler at all. Although I don't think grinding would be too bad if the battle system adds enough variety to the mix.
@timleon thankfully the jobs combined with the brave and default system adds enough variety that you can try different things for a while. And if you feel like doing the grinding quicker, you can increase the speed of the battle animations by four levels. I sometimes use it and it does make the difference.

@shining_nexus To be honest, once I learned about the second specialty of the Beastmaster, I have at least one member with that job most of time. It really is a versatile job.
@komodo182 I do it when I want to level up a job, while being curious about what will happen in X part of the story.
Just finished the game. I'm terribly dissapointed overall. Why did they remove or simplify so many great features from the previous games? Also the plot wasn't nearly as engaging. I'm let down by this game.
@hirokun Pretty sure it's mainly because of the current world events slowing the dev process, and the fact that the makers of this game is a different studio.

I think I'm going to hold out and maybe play the demos a bit more before I dedicate any time to one of these games, cause I think I need to be in the right mindset to play through a whole new RPG. In the mean time I have a lot of other JRPGs that I've started, so maybe I'll see how I feel after finishing those.
Definitely hope to give these ago at some point though!
Finally Defeated Edna and have unlocked the secret Chapter. Seth's cry for Gloria really feel genuine imo. Really glad that was the fake ending. Tried to do two of the Hall of Tribulations battles, but those are impossible unless I level up more and get the (SPOILER) hidden job.

The final boss is tough as heck. It counters if you use an item by depleting your BP. If you default, it'll counter by stealing all your MP. Then it has an attack that casts all of the debuffs possible, making you miss every attack.

Just beat it, and I thought it was pretty good. Heard a lot of people think this is the weakest entry in the series, and I can kind of see that, but at the same time I really enjoyed it, despite the story not being much to write home about.
Looking at other's opinions online, it seems the common consensus amongst the Bravely Default fans is that they really don't like this game. I get that it's weaker than past entries, but there's some people actually calling it garbage for being more basic than the other ones in terms of it's story.

@VoidofLight wow its not even the same people? No wonder it feels so wrong. I might replay bravely second. Really enjoyed that. I think I'll try to %100 it this time.
