@Losermagnet You're welcome for the post. That's awesome about the paint job. 👍 Unfortunately nobody plays Bloodbowl around where I live. I use to play 40K but my "nearest" game store was over an hour away.

@NESlover85 My experience has been similar. I started with Blood Bowl on the 360, and only within the last couple years picked up the box set (and it wasn't until late last year I joined a league and started playing people). I live in a rural area and had to drive an hour and a half for matches and it wasn't feasible long term. Although with COVID I'm not sure how the league ended anyway.
Glad to know there's at least one other fan of both Nintendo and Blood Bowl. How long have you been playing? Any preferred teams? I played Skaven in my league (they were the only team I had completed) but I'm usually Orc or Necro.

@Losermagnet I started with the 360 game as well. I played Lizardmen in the tabletop version. Only played a handful of games as I got tired of traveling to play. So I got the Legendary Edition of the game on PC. I love playing as Chaos and Chaos Daemons.
@NESlover85 Do you think you'll buy the switch port of 3? If so, we should try to get a league going. Hopefully the game won't be a bug ridden dumpster fire....

Played the second one on PS4 I think it was and wasn't impressed at all. I thought it was going to be like Madden except.with Orcs and stuff like that. Instead it was like some sort of damn board game turn based strategy game. I understand what Warhammer is, I have seen people play it at my local comic and game shop and heck I use to play the MMO back in the day, but if you're going to advertise it as a football game make it a football game.
Mutant Football League is a much better choice if you want a football game with Orcs and such with gratuous violence.

@NESlover85 Yeah it'd be between the PS4 and the Switch for me. I hope Cyanide can pull of a decent port, but I'm not getting my hopes up. And only 12 teams with the initial release? There's over 20 now, I think.

@Tasuki I could see how that would be frustrating. The last thing you would want when getting a sports game is ending up with a turn based strategy game instead.
That said, Blood Bowl is my favorite board game and I'm kind of surprised it never picked up like standard Warhammer or 40k. It is seriously fantastic when your team of rat people are vastly outnumbered on the field and still manage to score a touchdown and win the game (actually happened to me).

@Losermagnet Yeah I don't blame the game, it is what it is but the marketing department should have done a better job.
For the record I don't like turn based strategy games, it just that I don't have the patience for them. I enjoy watching other play them use to watch my friends play Warcraft, StarCraft and Command and Conquer all the time when I was a teenager but as for me playing them yeah, no.

@Tasuki I remember renting a game for the Atari Jaguar called Brutal Sports Football. It wasn't turn based, but you could play as Lizard Men, Dwarves, etc. You could actually kill the opposing team members and rip their heads off and use them to score a touchdown. The game lived up to it's Brutal title.

@Tasuki yeah it's a niche thing, which is probably why the marketing is so....unspecific. Agreed that it could be done better. And even though I love the game it can be stupid tedious if things go sour.
An average match in the board game would take me about two hours (which is a bit slow, but I'm still relatively new and forget stuff constantly). I had one match where my opponent just sat near my endzone and ran down the turns until they absolutely HAD to make the touchdown. That way I have less turns to make a TD of my own. It's a valid strategy, and it's dumb as hell. That was a tough game to sit through.

@NESlover85 I remember that game was suppose to come to the Genesis a magazine at the time even reviewed it but it never came out. I was looking forward to it too since I enjoyed Mutant League Football.

@Losermagnet Right. I am sure Blood Bowl and even Warhammer players knew exactly what they were getting into. Before Blood Bowl II I never heard about the game before. I honestly can't remember where I saw the advertising for it but I remember seeing Orcs, and Lizardmen and other things playing football nothing about it being a strategy game. As I said being a fan of Mutant League Football on Genesis I thought this would be similar, of course this was before Mutant Football League was released.
Luckily I only rented the game from Gamefly but yeah disappointed.
