I am so hype for this game. The mix of action and detective work, walking around in a semi-open world, seems like it's gonna be a quality title. The legions remind me of Chaos Legion (PS2 title by Capcom), which I enjoyed. That boss fight on the Treehouse segment looked sooo fun!
The E3 gameplay footage for this was absolutely killer. Platinum really knocked it out of the park this time, I can hardly wait! I guess I don't have to wait very long, though! August 30th, I'd better go mark it on my calender...
I like a lot of what I've seen from the Treehouse footage. There's definitely a lot more to this game than I initially thought. I was already interested when it was first revealed a few months ago, now even more so.
Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)
Is it just me, or is there surprisingly not that much hype around this game? This feels like the type of game that'd grace a PS4 or Xbox One instead of the Switch, so considering there are very few in this genre on the Switch I'd assume people would be more excited.
The game looks to have an incredible amount of depth, exploration, story, etc. I'm almost expecting a catch but there doesn't seem to be any so far. Definitely should be on more people's radars.
Luigi's Mansion 3 is my most anticipated Switch game (...that has shown gameplay anyway) but Astral Chain is likely a close second. At the very least out of first party games. Both Bayonettas, Metal Gear Rising and especially Wonderful 101 are fantastic action games and I've heard Nier:Automata is amazing too. I have no good reason to doubt this.
Since Bayo 1 & 2 were the only games by them I'd played, I was a bit disappointed when I realized that won't come this year But I'm definitely looking forward to Astral Chain now ... @DenDen
It's a new IP, so it's harder to speculate about, and they aren't constantly bombarding us with new info, so....what's to talk about? I personally am excited, but all I can do is wait in breathless anticipation.
It’s just that the game is behind Marvel Ult and Fire Emblem, which people are hyped about first and foremost because they are releasing sooner, but once those games release and it gets into mid August, you’ll see the hype rise for this one just like we’ve seen for Fire Emblem. Plus, no new info has really come out so there’s not much to discuss.
@Tsurii
When a game is really good, you just wanna share it with the world (or maybe that’s just me). Share. The joy. Oh my gosh that’s so corny Nintendo lol

@BruceCM
Astral Chain before Dragon Quest XI S for me, since it releases a few weeks prior. Enjoying DQ Builders 2 right now, and it’s such an excellent game that’s really got me in the mood for DQXIS.
Btw, this gameplay is so slick. Especially at 4 min mark where combat starts.

@shadow-wolf MUA3, Astral Chain and Daemon X Machina suffers from how packed 2nd half of 2019 is. DQB2 and DQXI S probably would've suffered the same fate if DQ Hero wasn't in Smash.
It is unfortunate this game is gonna target 30fps like Vanquish and MadWorld did. But after putting up with Bloodborne and God of War 2018 running at 30fps, I can handle it here.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
Cool, looks like there are a lot of people hyped for the game after all! And as @CanisWolfred it makes sense that since it's a new IP, there isn't much in terms of speculation we can do (hence less activity vs other games in long-running series like Pokemon or Zelda).
It just seems quite ambitious compared to their other games - even though Bayonetta is very good, it is first and foremost an action beat em up, while this one seems to have a living breathing world with places to explore and lots of depth. Looking forward to see what people think once the full game comes out in about a month.
