Managed to break 100,000 with a score of 105, 630 (however, I've still managed to drop down from 26th to 31, lol!) Still feel I may be able to improve on that so will keep dipping back in for a try here and there before the deadline. When is it again?
Also, I took a pic of the in-game leaderboard on my phone but can't seem to post the image here. Is there a way of doing that on this site as I use my phone to post on here.
Apologies for all the rudimentary queries and good luck to all those playing PULSTAR and posting scores. Do we have a current top 5 or top 10 scores?
Ok, bought the game (didn't realize I didn't have it yet on Switch and you need that version for Caravan mode). Let's see, tho I'm not that good with horizontal shooters with charge beam mechanics
@Lroy On my iPhone I use the Tinypic app. How it works is:
1. Open the app and tap the pic, it'll say "copy 1 link" on the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap "copy 1 link".
3. Then open Safari or whatever browser and paste the link and go to it. The page that opens will have your pic on the right and several links on the left under "Grab your code" (you may have to zoom in to see it).
4. (on iPhone) Tap and hold the link that starts with "[IMG]" for about 1 second and the text editing pop-up should appear
5. Select "Select All"
6. Then select "Copy"
7. Come back here and paste that link in the reply box
You can type text ahead or after the link, whatever you like, and the pic should show up.
@masterLEON Thanks mate. I'll have a go at doing that when I get a spare moment. Appreciate the help. Also do shoot me over a Switch friend invite if we haven't already exchanged codes ๐
Same goes for all the folks intending on playing along with these weekly arcade game high score challenges. Glad to know you ๐ป
So, tried sitting 30 minutes with the game (as you can see in my profile if weโre friend on switch, I bought the game just 10 hours ago lol) and I managed to score a 14100 (same leaderboard name as my NLโs handle) in roughly 7 or 8 runs in portable mode, which is not comfortable at all considering you canโt just hold to rapid fire.
Iโm pretty far from the top but I think it was good as far as a first attempt and to see what the deal was. I reckon if I wanna battle with the top spots I need to play docked with the joycons in gamepad mode, at the very least. Iโd feel waaaay more confident if I had already ordered an adapter to use one of my PS4/PC arcade sticks on Switch (no Iโm not buying Horiโs Switch stick since itโs basically like my HRAP4 and I play 99% of the times in portable mode). Canโt wait to do this challenge with Gunbird or other Psykio shooters!
Same here, if anyone wants to add me: SW-8347-9726-5976
Been holding off on playing a bit more till someone breaks the current record as I find it more fun to chase after something.
BTW, just a question.
If we do Strikers or Gunbird, or some other shoot em up with crafts that play differently, would we then split up the competition by which craft you use? That seems the fairest I guess.
We could limit it to a certain craft, but that would without a doubt end up putting players off since I think others love playing as one craft and not so much as another. I certainly do...
Would be the same for other types of games I guess, at least ones where different choices play differently. (Crazy Taxi, Sega Rally, etc)

Think I'm nearing my peak with a respectable if unspectacular score of 130, 950. Currently sitting at 25th on the global leaderboards. Not sure if that will get me into the NL community Top 10? Recognised some fellow members names above me. Well done all ๐
[UPDATE] Make that currently 16th on the Global Leaderboards with a score of 136, 380. Never ever thought I'd get that close to thread starter Mr. Mustard's score when he first posted it. Happy with that.
I'll be on tonight and make up a current leaderboard.
Can't believe what I done on Friday. There was 15 seconds left on the clock and I had all my lifes intact and 153k+ points scored. I then collided with something on the ground and said to myself just focus on seeing out the remaining few seconds and I should have a top 3 finish but nope, got hit again almost immediately and for some reason I totally panicked and hit the start button, making my stellar attempt worthless. I sat there staring at the screen and shaking my head for about 5 minutes. Gutted I was. One thing I can take from it I suppose is that at least I know I've got it in me.
@OorWullie Yeah, I did something similar on one of my first good runs.
Everything's going perfect then for some reason slipped and hit start, so that score went poof.
I actually forgot we could take direct screenshots in the ACA games. Been playing a bit of Ghostbusters pinball for the new tournament at the other place and since Pinball Arcade doesn't support screenshot at this point, I'm used of taking pics with my iPad... lol

@Lroy I'd love to do that!
Just posted a new record for Ghostbusters actually. (well not my personal record, since I did nearly double on my physical copy, but it's a weekly tournament, not an overall one, so that one doesn't count)
If people are interested in playing along, I'll be all for it.
Ghostbusters is certainly my favourite table in Stern Pinball Arcade so far and I don't think that'll change soon.
Not to crazy about Pinball FX as it's a bit too easy and thus the games just keep going and going, which tends to get boring for me. I end up letting my balls go down the drain because it takes too long.
Anyway, here's a Ghostbusters score to aim for.
