Has anyone gotten their villagers' photo yet? I got 2 of them recently but they weren't given the same way as New Leaf. I suppose I got to max friendship or something.
@BenAV I have been giving my villagers all gifts everyday. at first it was just not-local fruit but after I paid off my loan about 2 weeks in, I started to give gifts that had the best reaction. If you give them furniture that matches their color/theme sometimes they even place it in their house.
@Hedi Once you are good enough friends with a villager you can give them gifts in person. Before that point, you can go in the airport (far right side) and send them something in the mail. Similar to New Leaf I think that mail needs to be sent before 5pm in order for them to get it in the morning of the next day. After a new villager moves in I think its about 3 days of sending them mail and interacting with them normally before you can give them a gift in person.
@Hedi When you can give them gifts in person they will have different reactions based on how much they like the gift. I think its possible to determine what they like and increase their friendship even faster. As a bonus to giving gifts in person, they will either 130% the bell value of the gift or furniture/clothing in return. If you were to give your villagers a non-local fruit (not coconut) that would usually sell for 500 they will give you 650. After a while you'll get the nook miles reward for having a best friend and waaaay after that they'll give you their photo.
I had a load of eggs in my storage and were taking up space (my storage was full!) so I've crafted a load of items from them and sold them, made about 50,000 bells from it so I'm pleased with that - rid of some eggs, making room in my storage and making some bells too!
@Pink_Yoshi Please craft and sell instead of selling materials. The value of crafted items much higher. I did a small test to show you. Bunny Day wardrobe requires 4 stone eggs. Using 28 stone eggs to craft 7 wardrobes gives 11,200 bells. Selling 28 stone eggs gives 5,600. Crafting can take a while but I suggest giving it a try next time you have excess of a material.

Thank you for that LB, this is what I did, I crafted a load of items from the eggs and sold the items. I initially had been going to sell the eggs until I thought on that crafted items would likely make more bells Its another way I will get rid of surplus materials - thank you for your help and doing the test.
