it's look like a solid port, run in 1080 docked and 720p handheld, very rare framedrops from 30 to 25 but they are imperceptible , and most of the time is a rock solid 30, texture,AA, light ecc. are far away from the old gen and most near the actual gen ps4/xbox one. and they said the motion control are the best implementation ever on switch compared to other games
The file size of 17GB really bums me out. That all but guarantees there won't be a physical release. Because there isn't a publisher who will pony up a 32GB cartridge for this game. It's unfortunate.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,536 games (as of December 14th, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@Magician
The main problem the game barely sold enough to cover the costs on all the platforms (pc, ps3, xbox360, ps4, xbox one and pc) they can't t risk to lose money with a physical version (and with the prices of Nintendo cartridges) , i can understand them their are afraid it will not sold enough to cover the extra cost of the porting and have some profit
i read in some topics people are having horrible input lag of 1 sec worst than ps4 on the controls(right stick and bottoms) because of the anti-aliasing filter used on the game, for someone is not a deal-breaking , for other it is someone said it's ruined the game for him , why all the reviewers did not said nothing about it? for me is a deal-breaking and i will not but the game at all better black flag at this point
Digital Foundry did a comparison between this and the PS4 version and they always give a very in-depth and truthful examination and they don't mention anything like that. I would rather trust someone like that than forum topics
@Magonigal
. It should be noted that the Switch version appears to use triple buffer v-sync rather than adaptive v-sync like the original thus tearing is eliminated and input latency slightly increased.
From digital foundry article, the imput lag is worse than ps4 and there were people complaining with that version in the past
@Magonigal
for me, for example, will bothering a lot, I prefer a ps3 graphics version than have this problem(and i played at that time the ps3 version and i did not have any input lag), I sent an email to feral interactive to ask if they are planning to fix this, I will withdraw my desire to buy the game for now and i will take black flag rebel collection this month
Sure thing. Yup, same here. I beat it back on my PS4 Pro.
The craziest thing is that I actually do think it looks a tad better and runs smoother than PS4 after reading Digital Foundry and playing it a few hours. I remember randomly out of nowhere cutscenes or some gameplay would get so choppy on PS4. It would only be for a few seconds but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t notice it.
Goes to show how crazy technology has advanced in just 5yrs. @aresius
