The release for this game is about a month away. Originally an Apple Arcade exclusive, now making its way to consoles. Directed by Yu Suzuki, creator of Space Harrier. And while I've never been a Space Harrier fan, I do enjoy a good rail shooter.

Question is...will this be on par, or perhaps better or worse, than Panzer Dragoon Remake?

I think the Panzer Dragoon Remake is...fine.

I preordered a collectors set from Japan (game + soundtrack CD) and can’t wait to try this out.
Air Twister was like love at first sight for me, as an old fan of Space Harrier and Yu Suzuki’s amazing portfolio. I was sold the moment I heard he was making a spiritual successor. The soundtrack by Valensia has me intrigued, too - like Queen with a dash of Electric Light Orchestra. If you ask me, there’s not enough rock opera in video games. I hope the lush music and exotic visuals are matched by smooth, compelling gameplay but we’ll see! This game could be a wild ride if it runs well.

The Panzer Dragoon remake had a really negative reception, though I guess they patched it up to respectability later? I never bought that one, so I can’t say. Hopefully Air Twister doesn’t face such turbulence!

I must admit I am pretty excited for Air Twister. I grew up playing Yu Suzuki's games and he was always one of my favourite developers as a kid. Space Harrier (and on-rail shooters in general) isn't my favourite game (I would love him to produce a spiritual successor to Outrun and Virtua Fighter, if Sega wouldn't let him lead on a new game in those respective series), but everything about this does just look fun as hell. I love the colourful designs.
