@Filth_Element agreed the dark side was ridiculously hard. The only reason i bought the amibo was to not have to have such trouble really

@LuckyLand don't worry the water comes back after a while and you'd be missing out on 2 or 3 power moons if you don't and you'd miss a real cool pipe area.

@Dapper-D I’m starting to doubt the chances of DLC given it’s been out for like a month now but agreed nonetheless. The Mushroom Kingdom was so nostalgic but I kept waiting for one more treat, like I was thinking maybe there would be a painting in the castle to at least one SM64 world, they’re not really big worlds so I half hoped that wasn’t asking for too much. And then when I unlocked the Darker Side I totally expected a Darkest Side. Not that I can complain, factoring in post game this definitely was the largest 3D Mario game (unless maybe you count Galaxy’s Luigi mode, but I mean that was the same game was slightly different physics). I just have been so spoiled by recent season passes that I don’t want this game to be over. I want the option to pay for more!

And honestly year, Isle Defino could be a lengthy DLC campaign, I’m not saying put in every world but even just remaking half of the worlds or something, in HD with Cappy Capturing and a bunch of new power moons... I’d pay $20 for that, I mean that’s like a whole new campaign, and they could reuse assets so it wouldn’t be too much for them to handle...

I'm sitting right at about 684 moons, and fatigue is starting to creep in. The moons are starting to get harder to find. It's definitely my favorite 3D Mario (so many amazing moments), but they could have cut some of the flab out. It's weird saying this, but I think that the game is TOO big! Okay, maybe not too big, but there is some artificial padding.

On a side note, the sub levels where you have to chain together fire flowers to speed through narrow pathways are the absolute worst! There's one, in particular (the one where you have to raise up the wall, get the key, and race back to the beginning) that is so ridiculous! That, jump roping/playing volleyball the second time around, the Darkest Side of the Moon, and a few others are absolute torture!

Other than those, this was such a stellar game! I'm amazed at how good of a first year Switch has had! Imagine how amazing that first year would have been if it had had meaningful, non-indie support from the very start! 2018 is going to be absolutely killer!

Super Mario Odyssey is easily my favorite 3D Mario game so far. The post-game content is amazing and hunting for moons never gets old.
I was a bit worried I wasn't going to like Odyssey all that much to be honest because I thought SM64 was just OK and I disliked SM Sunshine. The Galaxy games were great but the large emphasis on motion controls meant they never became my favorites. Before Odyssey, my favorite 3D Mario was 3D World but the post-game content of that game was lacking.
Super Mario Odyssey is downright perfection. They did everything right here. I love it!
