@Lroy Thanks for the games last night. It was a big improvement from last time imo! That last game was kind of close, at least until the end of the match đ
Really? Between intermittent connectivity issues and a run of poor form, I felt I had an off-night but thanks for carrying me through the matches. I'm approaching 30hrs played and still feel like a total newcomer to this game. You're a very good ROCKET LEAGUE player.
@Lroy Give me another 5/6 hours of training and I'll be good to go!
I'm practicing in 3vs3 seasons with pro-level CPU (the intermediate one, that is) to get a grasp on the basics... I'm losing 60% of the games and my aerial skills are non-existent right now, but I feel I'm taking baby steps in the right direction (so I think!)
The original fire has died and gone, but the riot inside moves on.
@RetroGamerAndrew Yep, I'm still how you describe. Terrible in the air, not much better in defence and I'm 30hrs in, lol! Thankfully, there's some great and welcoming players on here such as @Mintendo@Jbs-Dad@Oorwullie - you improve playing with and against them for sure.
I'm also playing against A.I on intermediate. The middle difficulty. Won a 3v3 season on the easiest and then lost the Championship Play-Off match on 2v2 intermediate.
Already, doing much better this season though. I would recommend playing 2v2 on your next season as it gives you more of the ball both in defence and offence.
@RetroGamerAndrew Yeah, my aerial game needs a lot of work too! I see people performing mid-air acrobatics sometimes - spins, flips, tricks etc - and it totally blows my mind! I still get filled with nerves whenever I'm in goal a high ball is heading my way - but it's all good
What I love about the game is that most of the learning curve (to get yourself to a level where you're making a solid contribution to the team) is in the ground-level game and general tactical play (positioning etc) - from which point you can take those incremental 'baby steps' towards improving your in-air play and just gradually work towards becoming a more well-rounded player - it just helps to ensure that the learning curve never really levels out
I'd definitely be down for some tournament action - maybe even making it a regular thing? (like 'Mario Kart Mondays' ) ..no chance of winning it - but (as a famous loser once said) it's the taking part that counts!
Depending on numbers and figuring out how to best use the new Tournament feature, we can likely do 'private matches' and Tournament knock-outs.
I'm going to propose we kick things off on a Wednesday from 8pm UK time.
Of course, we can alter the timings or shift to another day, depending on what the majority of participants want.
Just trying to get the ball rolling here as definite interest in a ROCKET LEAGUE game night has been expressed from more than a few people.
Also be great, IF this does become a weekly thing.... to have a volunteer share the hosting duties with me.
I'm already been hosting and arranging the MARIO KART Mondays game nights which @Fafounet is now going to share running with me. So another pair of hands for ROCKET LEAGUE Wednesdays would be awesome.
Sounds good to me! I'm generally pretty flexible - so if people would prefer to play on an alternate day, I'm fine with that as well...I may not be able to play every week, but I'll try my best to take part as often as possible
..and I'm dying to try out this new 'Tournament' mode - so, even though I'll likely just get knocked out in Round 1, I'm 100% down for that too
@NaviAndMii Cool. I'm going to start adding the names of people wanting to take part into my original post (see Page 49 of this thread).
Between now and Weds, should be plenty of time to get a healthy number of people together. Heck, my friends list seems to show people on ROCKET LEAGUE most evenings, lol!
@Lroy I'll help out with Rocket League game's nights but I can't commit to anything until I'm back in Thailand. Got a lot on just now and while I'm usually free most evenings, I can't say for sure I will be. By the end of this month things will be back to normal for me. 8pm UK time is 2am Thai time but I'm always up doing work online during the night.
@OorWullie Sweet! I'll take the reins to get things started then and we can alternate once you are back on home soil. Can I put you down for next Weds? Of course, pull out if need be nearer the time.
@Fafounet We're just getting a ROCKET LEAGUE evening off the ground at this stage. We can always move it to another day of the week if that suits people better.
What is a good evening for you? I can't do Mondays - MK8 Night or Fridays - Work commitments. Sat and Sun tends to be gobbled up by work, family and Salmon Run, lol!

@Lroy Thursday evenings are probably better, but not to worry I know that we all have different commitments or other things to tend to. Ill be able to join on Wednesdays once the school term is over. I'll have to train hard online and against the AI to be able to compete with you guys by then. I still suck so much at this game, can't defend for no love or money!
Finally I get my fair share of gaming.
Praise the Switch!

Thursdays are good with me too. The more folk we can accommodate the better. @Spoony_Tech might be good for next Thursday too? 8pm UK time might be a little early for you though?
