Topic: 3d Games for Nintendo Switch Oled

Hello, i've recently bought a Nintendo Switch compatible VR set. I'm enjoying playing Supermario Odissey on it. I've tried to download another 3D game from the store but although it says 3D it doesn't give that option once you play it. Perhaps the 3D means compatible with the new portable Nintendo 3DS. Anyone knows titles that can be played 3D on the Switch Oled?

@Branca70 I think any mention of "3D" on switch eshop games just means that the graphical style of the game isn't 2D. I don't believe "3D" means it has LABO VR support.

The only Switch games I know that have VR support are Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild, possibly Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. I think there are others, but if I recall correctly, it's a small list.

Perhaps someone else in the forum here knows more about it than me?

Only a handful of titles had VR/3D functionality added after Nintendo released the VR LABO kit.

  • the cart that came with the LABO kit itself (of which many of the minigames can only be played with a specific LABO build)
  • Super Mario Odyssey (only a side mode. The core game can't be played in 3D)
  • Zelda: Breath of the Wild (entire game compatible)
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (only certain characters & stages can be used in the VR mode. Most of the game isn't 3D/VR compatible)
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (certain levels supported)
  • Spice & Wolf (an anime tie in game, I think fully compatible)
  • Neon Wall (indie, fully compatible)
  • Rooms: the Adventure of Anne & George (indie, not sure of the extent of support)

That's the extent of it I believe. Nothing like the 3DS where most titles had 3D.

EDIT: updated with a new title.

@Branca70
If you mean by 3D platformer games which you can rotate the camera angle like Super Mario Odyssey, there are a lot if games with 3D scrolling.
Some of my recommendations for 3D environment games.

  • Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles
  • LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER
  • The Smurfs : Mission Vileaf
  • Kao the Kangaroo
  • Spyro Reignited Trilogy

I HAVE BEEN CHANGED.... FOR GOOD. 💚💗

@RR529 It's definitely worth a look - I think it's only about four levels but it includes one of those minecart levels where you throw turnips in first-person, so that works pretty well in VR.

Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
