Topic: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim

@FX102A The game's just arrived and it's got a yellowy-green triangle, not the usual dark green one. I bought it from Argos if that makes a difference.

Just got back from our New Orleans trip. I played quite a bit of 13 Sentinels while I was down there, and I'm so hopelessly hooked. This game is seriously awesome.

I didn't believe ppl when they said how good it was. Ppl say that all the time, about a lot of games. Heck, I say it about a lot of games. But this one is something special.

@JaxonH Glad you're enjoying your time with it! It was easily my GoTY in 2020, and possibly even one of my favourite games of all time, so it makes me happy to see it getting more exposure on the Switch. There was no doubt in my mind I'd be double dipping on Switch, and I'm still enjoying my second playthrough with it. Even though I don't have the mystery factor while playing it this time, the visuals, voice acting, music, and presentation makes it enjoyable the second time through too. Hopefully Vanillaware continues to develop more games like this in the future.

My initial fear with the port (the performance during the RTS sections) seems to have been quelled. Haven't had any framerate issues, so far at least. I'll see later on when the battles get more hectic, but it seems like a really high quality port.

You've beaten the game. I'm stuck on a Remembrance section for Iori, with her friends talking about Boys, Boys, Boys, and a black cat to the right that runs off when you get close.

Can't figure out what to do. I've used all my keywords and there's nowhere to go.

Nevermind, I got it. Had to trigger a conversation to go get crepes, then offered a cat treat.

@JaxonH Yeah there weren't many times in the game where I felt lost as to what to do, but I remember that one taking a bit of to figure out.

It's cause you have to talk to the girl with glasses and pigtails to prompt the next conversation line, otherwise the dialog loops from the other girl, and the ability to talk to the girl with glasses and pigtails only occurs after a specific line of dialog from the other girl. That's what confused me. I kept mashing A to talk to the first girl and it kept looping, not knowing there was a brief window where a prompt occurs over the other girl to speak with her.

Just noticed the background NPC are not static but breathing, everyone is moving in an ever-so-slight way.
I'm so easily impressed...

It's not a technical showpiece but it is a very pretty game. And looks near flawless on Switch.

I’m like 25 hrs in and I’m a little worried I am rushing the game too much to the point I’m not savouring the game and perhaps even becoming a bit tired of it so seriously contemplating a short break. I just have become utterly engrossed into the story.

The story is really good and keeping me on my toes and each time I think I figure something out it drops something that makes me question everything again. However you can only replay the same path so many times up to the node where a new path opens, so many times before you get tired of it.

So yeah, time for a short break.
