Well...it only took Vanillaware five years to deliver at least one of their games on Switch. Better late than never I always say. Now we just need Dragon's Crown, Muramasa: Rebirth, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, etc. Anywho, preorders for the Japanese release went live yesterday and sold through fairly quickly. The AmazonJP page mentions English voicework included but I didn't see a mention of English text being supported.
I'm kinda surprised the trailers on the western accounts didn't feature the English in-game text or English VA. They just took the JP trailer and added some English captions on top. Here's a trailer from the PS4 version that does have a bit of the English VA:
Although I don't think any of the trailers for this game does it justice. It's really a phenomenal game that I'd recommend to any visual novel fans. Especially if you're someone that likes a more unconventional way of delivering a story, something like Zero Escape.
I am a little worried about how the RTS sections of the game are going to run on Switch. Even on the PS4 version I got some frame drops during battles, but my Sentinel builds mainly focused on placing as many turrets as possible so there was a lot on the screen to be fair.

I've heard, thematically and story-wise, it's not unlike other Japanese media classics like Evangelion, Xenogears, Zero Escape, etc. in terms of its scope and complexity.
Really should have held my ground on not buying it until it was ported to the Switch, but oh well.
In my defense, it seemed like it was going to be one of those low print run games that vanishes off the face of the earth before too long.
One of my favorite PS4 games and a perfect fit for the Switch, I'll definitely be double dipping. Hopefully it sells well enough that they'll also consider bringing over Muramasa Rebirth and Dragon's Crown.

I honestly assumed the same. I've been thinking about getting it with that in mind, and the only reason I haven't is that my PS4 has been having issues.
I'm ecstatic about the Switch port. It just seems like a game that belongs on the Switch.

@JasmineDragon Agreed. All of my previous experiences with Vanillaware's games have been on Vita, so they feel like portable experiences to me. It annoyed me to no end that this wasn't on the Switch.
I honestly know very little about this game, but the limited feedback I've seen here suggests that it's a quality title. Heck, I didn't even know about Vanillaware, though a quick Google search shows me that I've heard of some of their named titles. What I do know is that the game's soundtrack is pretty decent after stumbling across some of the tracks during my work YT listening (DEOXYRIBOSE, EDGE OF THE FUTURE to name a couple of excellent ones).

I saw & heard lots of good things about it when it came out on PS systems, @Tyranexx .... Hoped it'd come to Steam, really, so I'll wait to see if they announce that
@BruceCM I'd prefer to have it on Switch unless the port job has major issues, so I'm waiting for impressions close to release. I wouldn't be against it showing up on Steam either.

Yeah, there's that, too, @Tyranexx... I'd personally prefer it on Steam but I know plenty will be happy it's on Switch, as long as it looks & performs well Since it seems quite likely to come there as well, though, I'll wait to see if it does
Reviews and impressions are saying it's an extremely high quality port.
With its artstyle it essentially looks as good as any other version but in handheld and TV format. Those are the best Switch ports.
Game will be perfect for the OLED handheld. Only one week to go- and we have LEGO Star Wars, The Show 22 and Chrono Cross in the meantime.

@FX102A I ordered it today so I can tell you when it arrives, if you don't already have an answer by then. The triangle is something to do with what languages the game supports, right?
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
