@Kuhang Amazing news. This will be one of the first games I buy. I hope this means Pirate Yakuza will come too.

I've wanted to try the Yakuza series for some time but haven't yet due to platform constraints. I know the Switch now has Yakuza Kiwami, but I haven't picked it up yet. Would Yakuza 0 be a good game to start with? Some of my confusion has been where to begin since there are so many entries (if it even matters).

@Tyranexx Yes, Yakuza 0 is the one I started with. It's a prequel to the original game, so works as a starting point as well as fleshing out the characters for people who've played the later games.

So for me I am excited simply because I hope 2,5 and 6 get ported. THIS IS ABOUT VIRTUA FIGHTER 5!

This is one of my least favorite yakuza (I don’t like Majima, granted he is more tolerable in this game) buuuuut I don’t care. I bailed on the series with his new stand alone for that reason (I may buy it on sale for the arcade games). Buying day one with no system in hopes that I get my VF.

The Switch version runs at 4k 60fps.

Consider this:

• PS4: 1080p 55-60fps
• PS4 Pro: 1080p 60fps
• PS5: 1080p 60fps locked
• NSW2: 2160p 60fps

I mean... the proof is in the pudding, no? Of course, I'm not implying NSW2 is as powerful as PS5. AfaIk it was never updated for PS5 so it's capped at PS4 Pro settings. But some were saying Switch 2 wouldn't even match PS4 Pro with the end result produced on screen. And yet, real world results are proving otherwise to an unprecedented degree.

Even if you assume no update was released for PS4 Pro (which may be the case?) the jump over PS4 performance is staggering. Certainly the PS4 Pro would not be able to produce a 4k 60fps image for this game. Maybe 1440p 60fps or 4k 30fps. So it seems Switch 2 really is producing results which align with PS4 Pro - Series S when docked.

@JaxonH The proof is in the pudding indeed. That's just superb. I hoped for a sizable power upgrade with Switch 2 and it seems it has surpassed what I hoped for.

I have played around 10 hours of Yakuza 0 on my laptop through a free Gamepass trial. I loved everything about it. It will be one of the first games I buy on S2.

To think, after Nintendo gamers were shafted for years with the Yakuza series, we'll now have the definitive version of the best game in the series as an exclusive. At least for a while.

I just finished it.

DO NOT play Chapter 17 undocked; the battery life will not sustain the length of it due to the longest slew of cutscenes in the entire game, while there is only one save point in this entire section once the core of the main chapter takes off. You will never be able to experience this chapter undocked without the battery cutting or needing to revisit the chapter.

I played this on PC when it initially launched, the game has aged very well. It's still brilliant, but exercise caution when choosing to play undocked.
