Topic: What do you Hope to See in a New Mario Kart Title?

Yeah, people would expect the crossover stuff as standard because of 8 Deluxe, but I'd rather any crossovers follow the original 8 release for them. Coming as part of an expansion. Maybe two waves of content a year, with one of those waves being for crossover content.

Really hope they up the ante and do something risking with the franchise, its been long enough. granted MK8 did something new with the franchise, but its also been over 10 years ago with no newer games since. So yeah, up the ante and revolutionize the franchise again, and come back with a bang; the switch never got its own mario kart so i'm really hoping nintendo is ambitious about the next one.

And if its not too much to ask for, take notes from double dash and mkwii please. MK8 is ok and despite the innovations, it feels so watered down compared to wii and the original tracks in MK8 arent as enjoyable.

for clarity - the switch never got its own "true" mario kart. MK8(deluxe) is just a wii u port.

@nomither6 YES I MISS DOING WHEELIES! As someone who only used Bikes in MKWii since I was 3, I can say that no wheelies is absolutely disappointing every time I play.

@nomither6 Well, we had a Wii since right after I was born, and we have a pic of me playing it when I was 3 so I am going with that lol. Ironically, I am still awful to this day... XD Also don't you dare smear the name of my boi Funky! He was really good, but I played him because he was cool!!

As I mentioned before, I believe there'll be more crossovers, but the game can't be Nintendo Kart simply because the vast majority of characters and tracks are Super Mario themed. A Mario Kart Ultimate also wouldn't jive because it'd be too lazy after Super Smash Bros. did it, so no one should worry about that.

Nintendo will come up with some kind of new driving mechanic, although I struggle to think what it could be. An idea about driving through the ground apparently went nowhere. It's much easier coming up with character and track ideas. One thing that I think can really shake things up is overhauling the use of items. Removing coins could also be considered.

Nah, coins are useful for unlocking characters and tracks. They could remove the coin item, but keep the coins. In fact, I want to see them adapt Tour's shop to Mario Kart (except obviously without the gacha elements) and just let you buy them instead of the dumb "unlock a random one after X number of coins" mechanics. That never made sense, but buying them with coins makes a lot of sense.

@Bolt_Strike The coin item was what I had in mind. Earning coins through playing the game and spending them on kart parts and costumes makes complete sense. I wouldn't mind the next Mario Kart having stuff be unlockable in general. It's easy to forget how everyone and almost every part was available in 8 DX from the start.

Super Mario Pro Skater. Or rather, Downhill Jam, to fit the racing theme of Kart.

I don’t mean actual pit stops, but maybe you could zip through a side road to have the oil spots wiped off your windscreen, or to enlarge yourself after getting flattened, or to fix other kinds of damage. If you miss the side road then you just have to keep it

If you don’t have any damage the maybe you could still go through the side road anyway to pick up some extras

We need more Donky Kong tracks. Those are always the best
