There's a major vulnerability to the switch and the screen that becomes apparent if you buy a case.
I got a case and it has indents where the controller section can sit down into and it led to scratches on my screen. I slid the switch 2 into the case and as it slid in the right Joycon button hit the edge of the indentation and came off then immediately slipped over the top of the system and scratched the screen up. They are minor scratches but boy am I pissed.
I now have more scratches on my switch 2 than my release day switch. I would recommend having a case where the system is locked into place and doesn't have anything for the stupid buttons to catch. I prefer the old sliding Joycons for this reason and it's way easier to get the switch system out in tighter spaces by sliding it down.
I hope if you're looking for a case you don't end up with my mistake.
@Misima You also need to provide links to the problem product as this become just hearsay since no one else can verify what your describing here. If you didn't first put temper glass on it it's on the person to do this first before using the Dock or any case holder.
At the moment my Switch 2 is in a old Sonic the hedgehog bag I have, I'm trying to hold out for a cool looking case, instead of getting a boring looking one
@MisimaPlease provide a link to the case so people can avoid it. It doesn't have to be a link to your own pic, just a link to any store that has a page for the case.
(side note: tempered glass screen protectors are recommended day one. I've been please with my amFilm 2 pack w/ alignment tool(can be found on amazon))
If we are assuming you bought the case online, you don’t even need to upload your own picture of the case.
Unless your intention was to imply that the issue is the switch 2 itself and not the case, or user error; knowing how the case looks or the brand name would be useful for people looking to avoid damaging their systems.
Another case of "Trust Me" misinformation rumors again. This doesn't go well for the poster here. If you want to alert other Switch 2 owners giving links to product page goes along way for others to do their homework on the product in question.
I have that case right now and it works just fine no scratches or such. So this would mean pictures of the damage needs showing as to what the problem is.
Looking at that product I hate the idea of having the plug inside the case over the screen kept away by just a bit of netting and the cloth tab which holds game carts... also it doesn't fully cover the screen size.
I picked up the official case when I bought it, was something like €25 and comes with a fiddly but very effective screen protector inside the packaging. Strong recommend.... but that screen protector is fiddly to get right on your screen.
What would one expect from a carry case to store the equipment you need? If you want something bigger they have carry along cases that can take Dock and Pro Controller/Joy-Con2 and plenty of other stuff but then it's not portable. The portable has a flap that stores the games and goes over the screen so is no one using that to protect the screen or what?
@MisimaPlease provide a link to the case so people can avoid it.

I've given up trying to apply screen protectors to my Switch 2, I've now gone through 2 packs of the darn things with not a single succsessful application, I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing wrong but I've no idea what and they are so damn fiddly to get right, wish I could just get someone to do it for me but that's not possible. I'm just gonna have to be extra careful with the console.
@Dhaladog I've done for my Smartphone and Switch 1 display it's not that hard. What I did was insure you have lens cleaner packages not a cloth type that will introduce dust onto the cleaned display surface. And I clean both the Display and underside of the screen protector to remove any dust/contamination off. And then line up the protector and at the bottom edge use 2 pieces of "invisible tape" and tack it so the protector is aligned to the display. Then lift up slowly and clean the underside of the protector that you peel off and the display again and carefully peel the protector plastic off and press as you would press to put on a smart phone screen protector and if done right should be a clean setup. Otherwise you will have to pay a shop to do that for you if there isn't someone that can do it for cheap or free.
