A few days after the switch 2 launch, people were posting about used games causing their switch 2s to be banned. Was it because the used games were still registered on others switch game key cards? Is this still an issue? Fixed? Nothinburger to begin with?
*a quick Google search shows, "yes, it can be banned" and older articles.

I think it’s when the original owner of the cartridge burns the data to one of those all-in-one ROMs or whatever, so they still have the game, then they go and sell the cartridge, too. So essentially there are two copies of the same game out there.
Yes basically Nintendo is now checking to see if the copy of the game you’re trying to run is running at the same time on a different system, and if they find a match they assume you have the illegal copy and thus ban you.
From what I heard, if you manage to convince them that you own the real physical cartridge then they can reinstate your account.
To add to the above comments, this has nothing to do with game key cards, copying games like this was already done on Switch 1 before key cards even existed, and presumably having two copies of the same game can lead to ban regardless of whether it's the original copy is a key card or a proper physical release.
