Ever since I downloaded switch 1 games using the virtual cards and playing them, my switch two games are now stuck in non-full screen with black borders around all sides.

I’ve tried powering down, completely and powering back up several times. I tried going into the display options and manipulating those in every which way. I’ve tried docking it and then going back into the display and manipulating the options.

Weird thing, is that when it’s in docked, it is full screen, but when I remove it to go to handheld, it goes back to non-fullscreen. Even the start-up display where you see all your games is in non-full screen.

I’m thinking of doing a factory reset but I don’t wanna lose all the data. I’ve pumped into the switch 1 games suggestions?

Maybe you could try to go to recovery mode, then turn the console off without actually doing anything in the recovery mode? That fixed the issue many people had where the battery level indicator was showing the wrong percentage, because apparently merely opening the recovery mode resets some parts of the system even if you're not actually doing a factory reset.

Here's a video that shows how to do it:

@Pai Since switch 1 launch, factory resets rarely solve things people want them to solve. So, I would only do a factory reset if nintendo support recommends it. You don't want to make more work for yourself if it's not necessary.

If recovery mode doesn't resolve it, I can't find anything on nintendo's support site for this issue, your best path is to contact nintendo support. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/contact

If you find a solution, feel free to share it, in case someone else encounters the same issue.😉
