I was incredibly surprised when this game didn't get any news whatsoever in the Direct.

@CaleBoi25 First of all, it’ll spectacularly debunk people’s silly speculation or fears about Raiders just becoming more DLC for 3. I think Raiders will even be the first game shown in the Direct.
There’s no way of knowing what the gameplay will be like, but I don’t see it deviating too far from shooting. I know we’ve been spoiled on them lately, but I personally think Splatoon could be a brilliant 3D platformer. It’s a series about turf, after all. Single-player Splatoon has too often been about going from Point A to Point B or just doing missions, but how about exploring full-blown 3D environments? Might be too much to ask for a spin-off game, but it’s something I want to see Splatoon try someday.
It looks like we can modify weapons, so that’s probably what Shelly and Donny would be doing. Since he’s the only one who can swim in water, Big Man is probably in charge of scouting the islands from underwater. The house on the pier might make for a more personable hub where you can hang out with each Deep Cut member and get to know them better. Raiders will definitely have more lore about them and the Splatlands than ever before. Finally! There’ll obviously be new Deep Cut songs. Raiders music will even get a special release on Nintendo Music, so I’m looking forward to that, too.
There’ll be a new villain and new species of baddies. I have a gut feeling they might be pirates of some kind. Considering the salt theme like those big structures that resemble grinders, maybe the enemies are like living seafood creatures? Think Fred Crumbs. They won’t be Salmonids even if the logo has Salmon Run’s colors of green and orange. The islands look too peaceful with no orange skies or grill decorations anywhere, at least in these first few screenshots. Personally, I’d want to face a villainess like an evil idol, but again, there’s always the next game…
Raiders seems like a Summer game to me. It won’t be THAT big, but it should be a bit grander than your typical Splatoon story mode.
All right guys, what are y'all hoping to see if we get a Feb Direct and it has Raiders info?
Some actual gameplay footage would be nice. I bet one imaginary dollar that they tease a Raiders trailer again without any gameplay footage. XD Pardon my pessimism. I'm just very aware of how much Nintendo likes to stay silent until the last moment with some games.
